Can’t imagine it on a girl but I guess it sounds like [name_u]Riley[/name_u] :woman_shrugging:

I love it! it’s cute and spunky

Definitely very associated with the cartoon character “Wile E. Coyote” for me! Not my style; I unfortunately can’t read it as anything more than the adjective. It seems very modern and nicknamey to me!

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] or [name_f]Wildflower[/name_f] could be nice options to achieve it as a nickname! (:

character for those unfamiliar

I knew a little boy named [name_u]Wylie[/name_u] and I always thought it was cute! It has similar sounds to names like [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] and [name_u]Rylie[/name_u] so it doesn’t sound made up or too out there, but it is very unique and when you hear it you always kind of have an aha moment. I will say though that wily is a pretty negative adjective so if meaning is important to you then this one isn’t good.

It could work but I don’t personally like the sounds

Reminds me of Wybie Lovat from [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] (not a bad thing!). I guess I only like and as a nn

Definitely has the coyote association to it. I like the above suggestion to consider it as a nickname for a longer name like Wilhelmina…. [name_u]Willow[/name_u] even.

I love it.
It’s our top contender for a middle name for our little girl. Except I think we will go with the [name_u]Wiley[/name_u] spelling.
I don’t care about the Wile E [name_m]Coyote[/name_m] thing at all.
Also I think it’s super cute and like the sound of it better than [name_u]Riley[/name_u]

This is brilliant! I’m loving it as a nickname. I think I’m in love with Wildflower nn Wiley or Wily

I love it! [name_u]Unique[/name_u] and spunky

I like it as a nickname but can’t imagine it as a full name

I know of a boy [name_u]Wylie[/name_u], but don’t see why I couldn’t work on a girl too, especially with the -ie ending

I personally do not care for the name, for several reasons. It’s in that category of spunky, trendy, unisex, surnamey names that is pretty far outside my personal style. I also know that for many people, the first association is the cartoon character Wile E. [name_m]Coyote[/name_m]. Lastly, “wily” is an adjective meaning “sly, cunning; sneaky, tricky; opportunistic; skilled gaining an advantage, especially deceitfully.” Meanings are very important to me in naming, so I would avoid giving this one to a child.
