Woo-hoo! Giant name list!
[name]Adela[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]: I seriously love both names, but am thinking that the -la endings are a bit repetitive/matchy. What about [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]?
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]: [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]: What? [name]Cordelia[/name] is on your list? I’m so happy! I have to get up and do a little dance… Would you call her [name]Cora[/name]? I love [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Addie[/name]!
Then again they both contain del, which makes them a bit matchy. I love [name]Cordelia[/name] with:
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], and [name]Dorothy[/name]!)
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
Too many more to mention. [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is one of my favorite [name]Cordelia[/name] combos.
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Esther[/name]: I’m not personally an [name]Esther[/name] fan, but I can better see [name]Esther[/name] with:
[name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Florence[/name]: I think this is pretty! (And I love the [name]Flora[/name]/[name]Florie[/name] nickname.)
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: I love this, too!
[name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Estelle[/name]: Very pretty! Pronunciation issues may arise with [name]Adeline[/name], though, with ad-uh-line and ad-uh-leen.
[name]Allegra[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]: I love both names, but I think [name]Allegra[/name] needs a more exotic partner. (Now that I think about it, I can’t see [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Allegra[/name] as sisters…)
[name]Amaryllis[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name]: Fantastic, although if I were [name]Amaryllis[/name], I’d be really mad that I wasn’t named [name]Genevieve[/name].
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] (I so love this!)
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name]
[name]Amaryllis[/name] and [name]Lavender[/name]: I love flowers and floral names, but this is too much of a theme for me, especially with twins.
[name]Anastasia[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name]: [name]Lovely[/name], but they’re very different from [name]Dorothy[/name].
[name]Annelise[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]: Great!
[name]Annemarie[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]: I prefer [name]Anneliese[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name].
[name]Ariel[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] (hehehe): Too much of a princess theme…I love [name]Aurelia[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], though, and it’s close to both names.
[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Diana[/name]: I can see [name]Diana[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], but not [name]Athena[/name]. Cool Greek theme, though!
[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Penelope[/name], and love it with [name]Dorothy[/name], too, but [name]Athena[/name] doesn’t mix for me.
[name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name]: I love both names, but they don’t feel as old fashioned as [name]Dorothy[/name] to me, so her name sticks out here to me.
[name]Augusta[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Elora[/name]: I love [name]Aurelia[/name], but these two are too simlar for me in sound.
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name]: Absolutely gorgeous, but I think they’re too feminissima with [name]Dorothy[/name]. Also, I just realized that [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] share the same “or” sound.
[name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]! ([name]Beatrix[/name] is one of my favorites, and I’m so happy it’s on your list!) Would they be [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Bea[/name]? SO cute!
[name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name]: I think they’re too vanilla/safe for Miss [name]Dorothy[/name].
[name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Virginia[/name]: Ditto, plus I know a [name]Virginia[/name] who suffered through Virgin and vagina jokes.
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]: I love both names, but their ia endings are too similar for me.
[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]: [name]Love[/name]! I think [name]Emmeline[/name] is great with [name]Dorothy[/name], but I think [name]Charlotte[/name] makes the combo seem too safe. (I just realized that Aunt [name]Em[/name] is in The [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name], so with [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Em[/name], you’d have a WOZ theme going on.)
[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]: I can’t see [name]Georgia[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], but I can see the older [name]Georgina[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name].
[name]Clementine[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]! It feels very Southern, but I love it!
[name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Amaryllis[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Corinne[/name] and [name]Delphine[/name]: I love both names, but [name]Dorothy[/name] doesn’t fit the French theme.
[name]Diana[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name]: I love both, but can’t see the combo with [name]Dorothy[/name].
[name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name]: I think these are beautiful names, although a safe choice with [name]Dorothy[/name].
[name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Sarah[/name]: I’ll give this a thumb’s up if you’ll call [name]Sarah[/name] “[name]Sally[/name].”
[name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], but [name]Madeline[/name] is too popular for me and [name]Dorothy[/name].
I love [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name]!
They totally match [name]Dorothy[/name]'s vintage feel and spunkiness to me!
[name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]! I really love this literary theme, and the fact that [name]Dorothy[/name]'s name fits, too. Would they be [name]Dottie[/name], [name]Lulu[/name] and [name]Tillie[/name]?
[name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]: With [name]Dorothy[/name] from the [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name], plus the [name]Emerald[/name] City and the ruby slippers, this is too much of the Wiz for me.
[name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Glenna[/name]: Reminds me of [name]Glenda[/name] the Good Witch from the [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name], especillay with [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Em[/name].
[name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: I think this is great!
[name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]! [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Florence[/name] and [name]Estelle[/name]: Pretty…
[name]Florence[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name]: I think this is pretty, too…
[name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name]: I love this, but think [name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name] work better with [name]Dorothy[/name]'s vintage vibe.
[name]Grace[/name] and [name]Rose[/name]: I love [name]Rose[/name] as a first name, but I’m thinking it may be too [name]Golden[/name] Girls, because you’ll have half of the cast as your daughters.
[name]Helena[/name] and [name]Loretta[/name]: Not a [name]Loretta[/name] fan, because I picture [name]Loretta[/name] Tortelli from Cheers.
I really love [name]Helena[/name], though!
[name]Helena[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name]: I love this, but [name]Sophia[/name] is 1/4 of the [name]Golden[/name] Girls, and with your [name]Dorothy[/name], you’ll have half the cast.
[name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name]: [name]Isabella[/name] is #2 in the US, so it’s super popular, and [name]Madeline[/name]/[name]Madison[/name] are very popular, too.
[name]Isis[/name] and [name]Luna[/name]: I think they’re too exotic for [name]Dorothy[/name], and with [name]Luna[/name], I do think of looney.
[name]Jacqueline[/name] and [name]Marguerite[/name]: I thought of the sisters from “[name]Ever[/name] After!” (I love that movie!)
I love these names, and while I can see [name]Marguerite[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], I can’t see [name]Jacqueline[/name].
[name]Jocelyn[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name], and think it’s a great way to incorporate [name]Rose[/name] without going the [name]Golden[/name] Girls route with [name]Dorothy[/name]. I can’t see [name]Jocelyn[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], though, and think the endings of the names sound too close. Hmmm…What about [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name]?
[name]Johanna[/name] and [name]Glenna[/name]: I prefer some of your other combos.
[name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Thomasina[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] this, and you could call [name]Thomasina[/name] “[name]Tamsin[/name],” just like in The Return of the Native.
[name]Lavender[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name]: Too much of a theme to me.
[name]Lorelei[/name] and [name]Annelise[/name]: I can’t see [name]Lorelei[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], but I think the combo is beautiful.
[name]Lorraine[/name] and [name]Marilyn[/name]: I really love [name]Lorraine[/name], but I’m not a [name]Marilyn[/name] fan. I love [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Laura[/name], though!
[name]Lucinda[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name]: I think this is great with [name]Dorothy[/name]! [name]Dottie[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], and [name]Tibbie[/name]!
[name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name]: Ditto, but I love [name]Lucinda[/name] more.
[name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Sally[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] this! I’m so happy to see [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Sally[/name] here, and love them with [name]Dorothy[/name]! (Standing ovation!)
[name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]: I think this is great !
[name]Mariana[/name] and [name]Serena[/name]: I can see [name]Mariana[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name], but not [name]Serena[/name].
[name]Marianne[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]: I prefer some of your other combos… I guess [name]Marianne[/name] still seems dated to me. Hmmm…I really love [name]Mariana[/name], though.
[name]Marianne[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name]: I love [name]Mariana[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name]! It’s very Shakespearean.
[name]Marilyn[/name] and [name]Shirley[/name]: I really like [name]Shirley[/name], but I’m not feeling it with [name]Marilyn[/name].
(Now that I think about it, I’m thinking of [name]Shirley[/name] [name]Temple[/name] and [name]Marilyn[/name] [name]Monroe[/name], so it feels like an Old Hollywood theme for me, especially with [name]Dorothy[/name] from The [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name].)
[name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name]: Standing ovation! :- )
[name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name]: I love this, too, although [name]Tillie[/name] and [name]Tibbie[/name] are too close for me.
[name]Maureen[/name] and [name]Suzanne[/name]: Sadly, my least favorite from your list. I like [name]Miriam[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name], though!
[name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name]: I think this is amazing!
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]: I really love [name]Willa[/name] and [name]Tess[/name], but [name]Tessa[/name] is actually pretty trendy now, so I can’t see it with [name]Dorothy[/name].
Others in case I haven”t mentioned:
[name]Rosalie[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]June[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Paige[/name] (to honor someone): I don’t think it works with the other names…What about a P initial or using it as a middle name?
[name]Pearl[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Rosaline[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]: Prefer [name]Mariana[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name]: [name]Lovely[/name]…
[name]Arbor[/name]: Not my style, but I can see its appeal…
[name]Autumn[/name]: Ditto
[name]Emerald[/name]: Very [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name] with [name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name]: Soprano
[name]Liberty[/name]: [name]Bell[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]: I really love this!
[name]Summer[/name]: See [name]Autumn[/name]…
[name]Darla[/name]: I prefer some of your others…
[name]Glenna[/name] (honor someone): I can see it as a middle, but up front, I think it sounds like [name]Glenda[/name] the Good Witch with [name]Dorothy[/name]. What about the Welsh [name]Glynis[/name]? (Didn’t a [name]Glynis[/name] play the mom in [name]Mary[/name] Poppins?)
[name]Suellen[/name]: I prefer some of your other names…
[name]Agatha[/name]: Ditto…
[name]Allegra[/name]: I love it, but not with [name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]: I love this, too, and think it totally works!
[name]Elora[/name]: I prefer [name]Eloisa[/name] or [name]Eleanora[/name], but I do think it’s pretty.
Leisel: I love this, but wonder if weasel jokes may arise because of the rhyme. I have to applaud any Sound of [name]Music[/name] name, though. Wait. Then again, with [name]Dorothy[/name]'s name being associated so easily with The [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name], I think I may stay away from a name that’s obviously from another movie musical. Darn.
[name]Liselotte[/name]: I think this is lovely…
[name]Octavia[/name]: Cool!
[name]Catalina[/name]: I can’t see this with [name]Dorothy[/name], but I think it’s pretty!
[name]Tuesday[/name]: Weld. That said, I think it could make a cute middle name.
[name]Willow[/name]: Too [name]Palin[/name] for me, and I can’t see it with [name]Dorothy[/name]. (It’s destined to reach Trendyville soon, but I love [name]Willa[/name].)
[name]Iris[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Esmeralda[/name]: I think it’s interesting, but am more of an [name]Esme[/name] person.
I love too many of your names and combos to only list a few here, and I’m really excited for you!
Good luck!
