what do YOU think of ...

Recently, I’ve been thinking of baby names for a daughter. I fell in love with …

[name]SAWYER[/name] [name]HAZEL[/name]

I would love feedback to what you think about the name!

I prefer [name]Hazel[/name] to [name]Sawyer[/name], honestly. It has an elegance that [name]Sawyer[/name] seems to lack, yet it is feminine without being frilly - fitting of a girly girl or a tomboy. [name]Sawyer[/name] says tomboy all the way, and I personally don’t care for names that seem to limit the person that way. Obviously, the name becomes the person, so it isn’t a huge deal, but I just wanted to throw my views out there…

I dont like sawyer at all for a girl. There are so many great girls names lets not steal boys names!

Thanks for the opinions- helps a bunch! (:

I really like both names…in fact [name]Hazel[/name] is my first name pick for a girl if I have one someday  I also do like [name]Sawyer[/name], but I think I’d prefer it on a boy. If I did have [name]Sawyer[/name] as a girl’s name I’d want something ultra-feminine in the middle to balance it. [name]Hazel[/name] is feminine but not enough to balance [name]Sawyer[/name]. I’d use

[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Michaela[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Liliana[/name]

I really, really, don’t like [name]Sawyer[/name]. It’s strictly a surname, and it doesn’t even have a nice sound to me. I love [name]Hazel[/name], though; I think it’s gorgeous!

I love [name]Hazel[/name] and can appreciate [name]Sawyer[/name]'s appeal, but I don’t think they work very well together.

Good luck!

I don’t like it for a girl. [name]Just[/name] makes me think of the character from Lost, who used it as a nn anyway. I’m assuming that’s where this trend for [name]Sawyer[/name] has come from?

I agree with the others that [name]Hazel[/name] is a much better first name choice for a girl than [name]Sawyer[/name]. I find [name]Hazel[/name] darling but [name]Sawyer[/name] is all “[name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]” – all boy.

[name]Sawyer[/name] is a cool name for either a boy or a girl. I just don’t particularly like it with [name]Hazel[/name] (also a great name). Something about the flow is just slightly off for me…but it works. I made some other suggestions below.
[name]Sawyer[/name] is used as a man’s name in Lost, but a girl’s name in One Tree [name]Hill[/name]. I see it as a rising name for both genders, and I think I like it better as a middle name.

A longer feminine first name with [name]Sawyer[/name]…
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]

[name]Sawyer[/name] with a short feminine middle name…
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

Other middles for [name]Hazel[/name] that are kind of like [name]Sawyer[/name]…
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Addison[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name]
