What do you think of...

I like [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Ann[/name]. What do you think? Is it too old lady-ish? [name]Gloria[/name] was my great grandmother’s name and although it may spark images of grandmas, I’m hoping that her fresh face will abolish that stereotype.

Her initials will be [name]GAD[/name]. Any reason that’s a bad thing?

Thanks for your input!

I really like the name [name]Gloria[/name] - such a happy name! I think it would sound fresh on a child. I’m not terribly keen on [name]Ann[/name] as a middle name for it though, since [name]Gloria[/name] and [name]Ann[/name] kind of run together. I’m not sure if [name]Ann[/name] has any family significance to you, but you might consider a name that ends in [name]Ann[/name]/[name]Anne[/name]?

[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Marianne[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Susanne[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Roseanne[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Joanne[/name]

I don’t think that [name]GAD[/name] initials are a problem.

I agree with the pp, [name]Gloria[/name] is great but it does kind of run together with [name]Ann[/name]. I also second [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Marianne[/name], not just because that is my middle name but because it sounds good.

Ok, so if [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Ann[/name] runs in together too much, what about [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Frances[/name]?

Yes, [name]Ann[/name] does have significance. We’re trying to give the middle name to one of my in-laws. [name]Ann[/name] would be for my mother IL and [name]Frances[/name] would be for my father IL (his name is [name]Frank[/name]).

I just think [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Frances[/name] is a bit too antiquey.

Thank you so much fo your input. This is very helpful. I’m due in less than a month and the clock is ticking!

Is your mother-in-law’s middle name usable?

[name]How[/name] about Gloriana? I met a girl with this name once and thought it was gorgeous! Its also the name of a young country band, so it doesnt seem old-ladyish to me.

[name]How[/name] about just Gloriann? I have a Gloriann in one of my classes and it just fits her perfectly. Gloriann [name]Frances[/name] doesn’t sound like you are trying too hard either

Ooh, I love the Gloriana suggestion.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]?

[name]Gloria[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is absolutely adorable.

[name]GAD[/name] is an abbreviation for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I doubt anyone would point that out though.

I think it is kind of old-ladylike, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. I don’t love the flow with [name]Ann[/name]. I also like the [name]Glory[/name] [name]Ann[/name] or Gloriann suggestion. I don’t like the initials [name]GAD[/name]. I think of egad! But I don’t think it’s a huge deal either.
