[name]Robby[/name] or [name]Robbie[/name] as a nn for [name]Robert[/name]? …how would you spell the nn?
I think [name]Robert[/name] ( a nice classic, traditional, and a bit old fashioned name) don’t ya think?
… with the nn [name]Robby[/name] (cute!). I think I like that spelling best because it looks more masculine, but I’m also open to spelling it [name]Robbie[/name]. It probably doesn’t even matter as both are good
I’m 25 and my slightly older cousin’s name is [name]Robert[/name]. He has always gone by [name]Robbie[/name], although I’m not sure if anyone but family still calls him that. It was a very cute n.n.
I love [name]Robby[/name]! It reminds me of The Wedding Singer. [name]Robert[/name] is a fantastic name and [name]Robby[/name] is such a cute nickname for it. I love how easily [name]Robby[/name] can transition to [name]Rob[/name] or [name]Robert[/name] as he gets older. I prefer the spelling [name]Robby[/name] since I’ve seen it a lot more often, [name]Robbie[/name] doesn’t look quite right to me, but it’s not bad either.
[name]Robert[/name] is such a solid, handsome, classic name – very wholesome and timeless. I think [name]Robby[/name] is a really cute nickname, too! My first high school boyfriend was named [name]Robert[/name], but he went by [name]Rob[/name] (and still does). But his mom always called him [name]Robbie[/name] (and she spelled it that way, too) – she still calls him [name]Robbie[/name] and probably always will . I think both spellings are cute, I honestly don’t have a preference either way. I guess if I had to choose one, I would pick [name]Robbie[/name].
All the [name]Robbie[/name]'s I know have spelt it this way. I’m not entirely sure why you think a -y feels more masculine? It’s been a common way of making boy names seem ‘girly’ these days…just replace the vowels with a y and voila male. (Sorry, I’m tired, the sarcasm leaks out). I think either spelling is fine, but I wouldn’t say either seems more masculine.
[name]Love[/name], love [name]Robbie[/name] and [name]Rob[/name] just the cutest names for a guy, bring back [name]Robert[/name] but get rid of [name]Bob[/name]!
thanks! Sooo I think I"m gonna go with [name]Robert[/name], nn [name]Robby[/name]. I don’t think it really matters the way I spell the nn, so probably will just go with that. [name]Glad[/name] you girls like the name and find it classy and handsome!
