What do you think of

[name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name]

I’ve always liked [name]Mary[/name], but have always been worried that it may not be ready for a revival yet. [name]Sonnet[/name] is a GP name of mine.

What do you think? Does [name]Sonnet[/name] freshen [name]Mary[/name] up? [name]Do[/name] you think the flow is funny because both names are two syllables? Also, what kind of girl does it make you think of?

Thanks!

I think [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] is very nice and Bohemian combo.

Anyone else?

I like it.

I like it! The flow is a tad clunky because of the 2-2, but otherwise it’s great! [name]Sonnet[/name] is a great middle name.

I know a girl named [name]Sonnet[/name], so I automatically think of her, and [name]Mary[/name] is one of my all-time favorite names.

[name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] is lovely and lyrical. The flow doesn’t sound off to me at all, even consider the repetition of two syllables.

Are you thinking of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] as a double barrel first, or just as a first and a middle? I love it either way, but there’s something especially fresh about [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] as a double first. Gorgeous.

I really like [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name]! The flow is fine, and I love how the whimsical [name]Sonnet[/name] freshens [name]Mary[/name] up.

That was another thing I meant to ask. I love [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] together as a first, and would love to call out on a playground “[name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name]!” but I’m not sure what middle would work well. Also, the rest of my names are the typical one first name, one middle name combos. What do you guys think? Ideas on a middle if I double-barrel it?

I think [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] is quite beautiful. I have been loving the name [name]Mary[/name] lately after hearing it every week on Downton [name]Abbey[/name] and think it is ready for a revival. [name]Sonnet[/name] is unexpected but still pretty. I think the two names balance each other out nicely.

I think it’s adorable! I’m not a fan of [name]Mary[/name], but it is excellent for a compound name, and [name]Sonnet[/name] is so sweet and unique.

Ooh, how lovely! If you use it as a double name, you can either use a middle name or not. My best friend is [name]Mary[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] but goes by either [name]Mary[/name] or [name]Mary[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I have another friend who is [name]Sara[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], but always uses both names and has a separate middle name, [name]Blair[/name]. If you choose to add another name in the middle name slot, I’d consider names with a different number of syllables than two to break up the 2 2 you have going. [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] are all pretty. Although, [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] on its own is so stunning too.

I like it but not as a double barreled first name because it sounds like a happy sonnet, “merry sonnet.”

I think it is lovely! My top name is [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Jane[/name], and I actually suggested [name]Sonnet[/name] as a middle name for it to the husband. He, unfortunately, didn’t go for it. Should you choose to use it as a double first name, I love cygnus’ suggestion of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]!

@cygus - [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] are adorable! I really like the idea of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] as a combo but calling her by her first and middle name.

Goodness, I really do like [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] both ways…double barreled and as a normal combo, so difficult to choose…
I just thought of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Eve[/name], thoughts?

I do not like [name]Mary[/name]. [name]Sonnet[/name] is a GP name of mine as well but I think it sounds weird with boring, old [name]Mary[/name]. It’s like a waste of such a special, wonderful name like [name]Sonnet[/name].

I adore [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name]! It reminds me of a combo on my list, [name]Mary[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], which might work for you if you wanted a safer option!

It’s charming. Are you thinking of both names comprising the first name, or is it first and middle? I know a [name]Mary[/name] [name]Todd[/name] (that’s her whole first name). I see [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] as winsome.

That’s what I’m stumped on…I really do like it both ways! However, purplekitty did bring up ‘merry sonnet’; do you think [name]Mary[/name] would be mistaken as ‘merry’ a lot if paired with a word name?

I think [name]Mary[/name] as the first part of a double-barrel is common enough that people will tend to think of it as [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Sonnet[/name] rather than as a “merry sonnet.”

I suggest [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] LastName, but calling her by the first and second name together. Very beautiful. [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Sonnet[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] were wonderful suggestions, though. Absolutely lovely.
