Alright. This is a simple discussion thread. Each poster will say one name or combo that they want opinions on (with gender), and the next poster will rate it 1-10, talk about what they like and/or don’t like, and give a sibset suggestion (1 brother, 1 sister). Got it? I’ll go first.
[name_u]London[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] (m)?
I like both names individually, but together it sounds too much like a sentence.
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_u]Orion[/name_u] (m)?
It’s out there but I do like it, but would personally prefer Zenith [name_u]Orion[/name_u]. I just don’t like “y”s in most names which is totally a personal thing— visually it bothers me for some odd reason. It would make a perfect character name but I can totally see it on a baby as well.
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] is one of my top 25 boy names, and I’m considering it as a girl’s middle as well!
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
Umm… I’ll rate it 4/10. It flows pretty well, and I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] isn’t my thing. I would have guessed it was Russian or something, but it is Dutch, which is really surprising. I like Dutch names like [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_m]Kylar[/name_m], [name_u]Skyler[/name_u], and [name_u]Van[/name_u]. I just don’t care for the harsh sound of the S and SK. I would suggest [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] to complete the sibset.
[name_u]Linden[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] (f)?
It sounds pretty but also too much like a sentence. I think [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] would work better.
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]?
I’m not a fan of [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] but I think it goes very well with [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]! I wouldn’t change a thing.
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] “[name_f]Meli[/name_f]”
Amelie Jupiter-Hm. I adore Amelie. It’s girly yet sophisticated, a little bit exotic, & very sweet. I’d rate Amelie a 9/10. At first glance I thought that this was Amelie Juniper, & loved that! Jupiter I don’t like as much, & find it a bit masculine. However it is unique & bold w/out being made up trendy sounding. That being said, I’d like to give the whole combo a 8/10. But! I don’t care for Meli at all. It reminds me of Melissa, which is just dated & blah in my opinion. Amelie on its own is perfect, but if it needs a nn, I’d prefer Ami. Sooo, if we have to consider the nn I’m moving my vote to 6.5/10.

What do you think of Guinevere Daisy? If it matters, Daisy is to honor my late dad, David.
I’d probably rate it 6/10 as a whole. I prefer [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] to [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is okay, but I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] better. To honor your dad, I’d probably use a different name, because [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] isn’t so similar that it’s obvious. I understand that [name_m]David[/name_m] is a hard one to femininize (is that a word?), so I would consider using his middle name or a femininization (is that a word either?) of it.
[name_f]Sister[/name_f] - [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Brother - [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m] [name_m]Hawk[/name_m]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]?
I think it’s beautiful, but adding an E to [name_u]Rain[/name_u] personally throws me. I get that it makes it more namey but it just makes it look misspelled to me. However, if it’s what you love don’t change it! It’s totally a personal thing. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Rain/name_u sounds lovely and flows very well! I can totally see it on a character or on a real baby.
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] (if you don’t like it what would you suggest with [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]? Can’t find anything I love)
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is a very handsome name! I just think that [name_f]Louise[/name_f] does not fit. Maybe [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or even Wevelry [name_f]Collette[/name_f] would be more suitable. But if you like [name_f]Louise[/name_f], you don’t have to change it of course!!
I would suggest [name_m]Mario[/name_m] [name_m]Cove[/name_m] for a brother and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Asha[/name_f] as a sister!
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_m]Bronx[/name_m] [name_m]Kason[/name_m] (male)
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is a truly beautiful name because the word itself is so beautiful. I love that it’s relatively short with two syllables and the long ‘O’ at the beginning sounds both fresh and strong.
I personally don’t like ‘[name_m]Bronx[/name_m]’ as a name at all. I find it harsh, particularly the heavy ‘ONX’ at the end of a single syllable word. Next to [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] I personally find it incredibly jarring.
I personally also don’t like ‘[name_m]Kason[/name_m]’. I don’t mind made up names but I find that this just lacks a bit of substance and I don’t really like ‘-ayson’ ‘-aydon’ sounds.
