Of [name]Phineas[/name]? Nickname would be [name]Finn[/name].
If he’s a boy he’ll be a brother for [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Theo[/name]) [name]Matilda[/name] ([name]Tilly[/name]/[name]Mattie[/name]) & [name]Philippa[/name] ([name]Pippa[/name]).
Is it too close to [name]Philippa[/name]? I only call her that when I’m exasperated, and I would be calling him [name]Finn[/name] primarily… too close?
It is perfect with [name]Theodore[/name], but, for me, the start sounds of [name]Philippa[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name] make the names too close, even if you use [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name].
Here are some others, if you are open to them, that work with [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], and [name]Philippa[/name]:
I really like [name]Alastair[/name], it’s a longtime favourite, but I don’t like the nn [name]Al[/name], it seems like a trucker to me, and I can’t think of another one. I knew a boy in grade school who was [name]Alastair[/name] [name]James[/name] and went by AJ, which I think it great, but it seems very JD & DJ & permed bangs and neon light era to me, so I’m not sure. Husband vetoed all the others! Of course suggestions are great!
i wasn’t suggesting DJ, I was looping AJ in with it, the time when everyone went by initials…
[name]Alec[/name] is… foreign. it doesn’t roll off my tongue, it more like spills out clumsily, I think it’s a no go.[/quote]
Yeah, I know you weren’t suggesting DJ. I’m just saying that AJ seems like a fresher initial choice to go by than DJ, for some reason. DJ seems dated in my opinion, whereas AJ just…doesn’t. Maybe because I know an AJ…
I agree with [name]Lemon[/name]. [name]Phineas[/name] and [name]Philippa[/name] are too close.
Your children have wonderful names!
[name]Theodore[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Philippa[/name], and …
[name]Alfred[/name] nn [name]Alfie[/name]
[name]Archibald[/name] nn [name]Archie[/name]
[name]Chester[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Edwin[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Kenneth[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Otis[/name]
[name]Raymond[/name] nn [name]Remy[/name], what do you think?
[name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]
I agree with [name]Lemon[/name]. [name]Phineas[/name] and [name]Philippa[/name] are too close.

I can’t get past archie comics, chester seems sweater-vest & uptightish, love love love [name]Dashiell[/name] except I pronounce it with three syllables, [name]Dash[/name]-ee-ell and according to everyone that’s wrong, [name]Kenneth[/name] is actually going to be this baby’s second middle name after my grandfather
[name]Leopold[/name], no, but [name]Leo[/name] is cute, just getting too popular, and [name]Leo[/name] & [name]Theo[/name]? not gonna happen haha I actually love [name]Simon[/name], but hubby doesn’t, unfortunately, so we’ll never use it. Thank you!
[name]Lemon[/name] - I’m playing around with J names that would work in the middle, it’s different!
I really like [name]Willoughby[/name] but hubby won’t go for it [name]Maximilian[/name] is another favourite, but [name]Max[/name] is just getting too popular for my taste, tons of celebrities are using it and a friend of mine is naming her baby that if it’s a boy. [name]Love[/name] [name]Samson[/name], but again, husband doesn’t.
I really love [name]Alastair[/name]!
Two other nn possibilities could be [name]Ari[/name] or Als (which has a totally different feel to me than [name]Al[/name]).
I don’t think [name]Phineas[/name] and [name]Philippa[/name] are that close… I wouldn’t do it, personally, but if you love the name, then it doesn’t matter quite as much. What about these:
[name]Love[/name] [name]Ari[/name]! I’m not sure if I could go for Als, although it does have a completely different feel than [name]Al[/name], I’m right with you there.
