I’ve always assumed I’ll have girls. My mother decided to tease me that, being largely of Irish blood, I should name my daughter Shillelagh. Obviously I’m not going to do that, but that gave me the idea of Laylee. I think it’s quite pretty, kind of like a softer version of [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] or a cuter version of [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]. The thing is, as far as I have found, it has no meaning, which is important to me. So, I have three questions: What do you think of Laylee? Is it okay to give a name with no meaning? Are there any names you think would work well as a middle name or as a sibling for Laylee?
I’ve always had [name_f]Laily[/name_f] (spelt this way) down as a nickname for [name_f]Laila[/name_f]. I think it lacks the prominent sounds of [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] and [name_f]Haylee[/name_f] and so, in my opinion, it’s better as a nickname option. Laylee is sweet in theory but I couldn’t picture her as an adult.
For middle names, I think something more traditional would work:
Laylee [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
Laylee [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
Laylee [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
Laylee [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
Perhaps Laylee would work well as a nickname for [name_f]Laila[/name_f]/[name_f]Leyla[/name_f] or [name_f]Leilani[/name_f]? [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] was the first name that came to my mind when seeing Laylee.
