They’re all wonderful names, I can see why it’s so hard to choose.
[name_f]My[/name_f] top 2 favorites from this list are [name_u]Esme[/name_u] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
[name_f]Evelynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] tie for 3rd, too hard to choose between them.
Matilda (strong)—8/10: I think this is a pretty, underused name and definitely sounds like it’s ready for a revival
Mavis (songbird)—1/10: sorry, but I find the sound of this hideous. I’m shocked that so many people could like it
Melissa (honeybee)—5/10: the sound of it is kind of pretty, but I used to have a very weird piano teacher named this and now that’s all I can associate it with
Evelynn (wished for)—4.10: I don’t really like the “lynn” part and something about looks kind of… stuck-up
Esme (beloved): 4/10: like the one above, it just sounds kind of snobbish somehow and even though the sound of it is pretty, the spelling isn’t
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is really sweet and underused! Definitely my favourite, but I like all of them. I might go with [name_u]Esme[/name_u] for my second fave!
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is my absolute favorite from this list, and it is very high up on my own lists (probably in the top 5 if not, definitely the top 10!) All of the names are lovely though!
I would rank them:
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelynn[/name_f]
[name_u]Esme[/name_u]
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]
