What does a Mary look like to you?

Hello! I don’t know if this thread is out of topic but I was recently told (again) that I look like a Mary. So I was curious to know: How would you imagine a Mary to look like?

I know a LOT of people named [name_f]Mary[/name_f] IRL, so I’m biased, but oddly, most of them have had straight brown hair, “average” height, and kind eyes.

It’s also a family name for me, so it’s literally the name of my sister (though she’s never gone by Mary), two aunts (one admittedly by marriage but still), and grandmother, plus a middle name for a lot of other relatives. Which is part (but only part) of the reason I know so many similar looking people with the name

Yes! This is exactly what I see too. Pin straight medium/dark brown hair specifically and usually a rounder face as well.

I don’t picture anyone in particular with the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f], because it’s so common that I’ve known people that look completely different with the name! I think some of Mary’s beauty in how versatile it is :yellow_heart:

Well, since I’m a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] I guess I’ll share a little about me. I have wavy-ish brown hair around shoulder length, blue eyes, and am a bit shorter than average. [name_f]My[/name_f] face is kinda round too, since other people were saying that :joy:.

One of my favorite things about the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is that it can suit any person! I don’t really imagine anyone in particular because it is so widely used. If I had to picture a [name_f]Mary[/name_f], I would probably imagine something like la Virgen de [name_u]Guadalupe[/name_u]:

Summary

Dark eyes and hair, young, a calm, rounded face, light brown skin. Really, though, I don’t think of any particular physical characteristics for [name_f]Mary[/name_f]!

[name_u]Light[/name_u] brown hair, slim and tall, hazel eyes, pale skin, has a feminine look overall. Polite, calm and friendly.

I know so many people named [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] that I honestly can’t associate the name with a face, age, style or personality. Honestly, it’s the most plain and boring name in the world for me, sorry. In my country, 1 in 4 girls born every year has the first name Maria… Many others have the middle [name_u]Maria[/name_u] or a similar name like [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]. :worried:

[name_m]Calm[/name_m] and pleasant.
