[name]Dean[/name] is definitely, without a doubt, going to be the name of our first son. I am having a lot of trouble recently with my boys list though. So I want to know what [name]Dean[/name] makes you think of. What type of boy/man do you think a [name]Dean[/name] would be like? What other names give you a similar image to [name]Dean[/name]? What other boys names do you see fitting in with [name]Dean[/name]?
I really like [name]Dean[/name], and although I know I’ll never actually use it, I’ve always had a good impression of the name.
I picture a boy named [name]Dean[/name] who is genuine, into the outdoors, sweet and happy. I see a little bit of mischief, and a quiet sense of humour.

So weird to see this post today; hubby and I are really digging [name]Dean[/name] as well! This part of Nameberry’s description of the name [name]Dean[/name] is exactly the impression I get: “[name]Dean[/name] may sound to some like a retro surfer boy name…” DEFINITELY get a retro surfer boy feel! 
I also get a friendly, approachable feel to the name [name]Dean[/name]. It’s a familiar name without being over done or common. I think it’s a great choice!
I love [name]Dean[/name]! I imagine a handsome, charming, laid back sort of guy. On a child, I imagine a fun loving boy with a penchant for mischief. For brothers, I like both [name]Hugh[/name] and [name]Jude[/name].
I may be showing my age here but when I hear the name [name]Dean[/name], I get two images in my head. Firstly, I think of a handsome, cool and edgy guy with an element of danger lurking underneath (50’s actor [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name]). The name also conjures up a windswept beach on a carefree summer day (eg. surfer music group [name]Jan[/name] and [name]Dean[/name]).It’s amazing that such a one syllable name would have two strong images that are polar opposites of each other.

I adore the name [name]Dean[/name]. It’s my dad’s name. It’s easy to pronounce and has only one spelling (that I know of).
When I hear the name I picture someone very masculine, extroverted and compassionate.
I think of the character, [name]Dean[/name] Winchester from Supernatural. 
Therefore I think of someone who is handsome, strong, fearless and brutally honest!
I think of [name]Dean[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]…So a tall, black, Gryffindor boy who has a total bromance with [name]Seamus[/name] [name]Finnigan[/name] and, if I recall correctly, a good artist.

I like [name]Dean[/name]! I think of [name]Dean[/name] from [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls, who was always my favorite of [name]Rory[/name]'s boyfriends. He was just so sweet and adorable. Then again, I also think of this that was a good friend of my brother’s–he always seemed so conceited and full of himself, which turned me off of [name]Dean[/name] or a long time. 
I’m with @ashthedreamer - definitely thought of [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls first. (My favourite of [name]Rory[/name]'s boyfriends will always be [name]Logan[/name]. :P)
I think of a college dean. Like, [name]Dean[/name]'s list. But past that, a mature, professional, responsible but very charismatic person (and for some reason tall with brown eyes and dark brown hair).
I think of an outgoing, fun loving guy who is full of life. I have to admit, I like the name, but I don’t love it…however, when I saw the middle name you are pairing with it - [name]Dean[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name], my reaction was “wow, that’s pretty cool!”
I immediately think of [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name]. I really like the name and agree with the “retro surfer boy” vibe.
Yep, this exactly, including the wink!!
[name]Dean[/name] [name]Cain[/name]…the actor that played Superman on the TV version I used to watch!
Also, [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name].
[name]Jimmy[/name] [name]Dean[/name] sausages, and then I think of [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name]. It’s a baby boomer name so the 100 year rule says it might come back into fashion 30 years from now.
I think of [name]James[/name] [name]Dean[/name] and cowboys. [name]Dean[/name] is a cowboy all the way. Names similar in feel to me are [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Levi[/name].
I think of [name]Tori[/name] Spellings husband [name]Dean[/name] [name]McDermott[/name], and of [name]Harry[/name] potter. It is a nice name. I have been liking a lot of simple, short and classic names lately and I think this fits.
When I hear the name [name]Dean[/name] it conjures up an image of an open, cheerful happy go lucky guy. I did think of [name]Dean[/name] from GG and HP but that was a secondary thought mostly I just think nice guy image.
