What does the name Evangeline make you think of?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about the name [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]?

Crystals, snowflakes and [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] with my family.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] makes me think of evangelism, an evangelist, and evangelical – having to do with witnessing about Christianity. [name_m]John[/name_m] the Baptist and [name_u]Billy[/name_u] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and the like. And since it’s such a frilly girly name. I imagine a Disney princess dressed like [name_m]John[/name_m] the Baptist and preaching by a river…lol. You asked!

I love the name [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]! I’ve got it as a middle for one of my girl sets  [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] makes me think of a snowy [name_u]Christmas[/name_u], with bells, christmas lights, carollers, and chiming [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] bells. Which is quite funny as I’m Australian, so our [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] is often in very hot weather with a BBQ, or a water-fight, or something completely opposite to the imagery that [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] invokes! :stuck_out_tongue:

A disney princess dressed like [name_m]John[/name_m] the Baptist lol that’s funny

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] makes me think angel, but not all white and pure, more powerful, strong and a bit dark. I quite like the image, and it’s a pretty cool name.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] for some reason makes me think of a ballerina. Maybe it’s because I find it to be very feminine and frilly. It’s a very nice name.

This is the top name for my husband and I right now. I don’t know why exactly he likes it so much, but it makes me think of a strong, beautiful, statuesque princess/goddess. Lol I just love it :-p

It makes me think that the girl who is named that is very sweet, graceful, and ladylike.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Always think of that actress from that show Lost. Then I think how much of a great name in look sound feel and meaning it is.

I always think of Evangelical Christians. Because of that, I’ve never been able to really see the appeal I think. Though without my automatic association, it is a lovely name.

It’s one of my favorite names because a child’s nn “[name_f]Evie[/name_f]” is sweet and as an adult [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] evokes a soft dignity, a creative person who can be serious and have fun, too.

I think it’s beautiful! I knew a girl named [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] but she went by [name_u]Angie[/name_u]. I like the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f] more though.

I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is a beautiful name. I just picture ball gowns and sparkles. [name_f]Pink[/name_f] and cupcakes, those kind of things.

I think of traditional [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] imagery or what you would see on a vintage christmas card (angels in long white robes, trumpets, the heavens opening, ect)

“This is the forest primeval. The murmuring pines and the hemlocks, bearded with moss, and in garments green, indistinct in the twilight, stand like druids of eld, with voices sad and prophetic, stand like harpers hoar, with beards that rest on their bosoms.” [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Wadsworth [name_m]Longfellow[/name_m]

I adore [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], and that’s what I think of when I hear it. That’s from [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]: A Tale of [name_f]Arcadie[/name_f], if you’re not familiar with it.

It reminds me of the actress [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] who played [name_f]Kate[/name_f] in the show Lost

I think it’s a beautiful name

[name_f]Princess[/name_f] and the Frog “Ma [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]”

I like the sound and look of the name, but for whatever reason, I really don’t like this association. The song is actually pretty cute… but it causes me to think of frogs, bugs, and crotchety old men when I hear the name. Which is doubly weird because of the frillyness of the name.

However, I’m pretty sure that I’m alone with this association

I think of something bright, like an angel or a star. I love the song “[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]” from the Disney’s [name_f]Princess[/name_f] and the Frog, where [name_u]Ray[/name_u] the lightning bug sings to a star. Also, a friend of mine has a daughter named [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], and she totally fits her name. She’s a shy, yet sweet little girl with blonde curly hair and bright blue eyes.

In conclusion, when I hear the name [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], I only think of good things

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] reminds me of an angel and maybe a white [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].
