Here’s the deal…DH is terrified to even think about names because he’s afraid to fall in love with a name (or even verbalize his interest in a name) only to have someone ruin the name with an unsolicited comment or have a friend or family member use the name. Plus, he’s a teacher, so finding a name that isn’t tied to a student is going to be a challenge! So, I’m on my own to brainstorm names until he’s ready to start the conversation closer to when DD is due in [name_u]November[/name_u]. BTW, he definitely wants to be part of the naming process, but he just thinks I’m jumping the gun thinking about names when we’re only 19w along.
Since he’s given me no clues for girls (we both love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] for a boy), I want to build a solid list of names I like and could imagine on an actual child!
Here’s my list. What else should I consider adding?
I feel like we have similar naming styles so maybe you’ll like [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Leila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f] both mean night and I think fit with the other names you like too. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
PP’s suggestion of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Leila[/name_f] meaning night would be great! [name_f]Luna[/name_f] or [name_f]Stella[/name_f] from your list could honour night too, since moons and stars are associated with night As a more unusual, off beat choice that might be more suited to a middle name, [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] was the Greek goddess of night
Asra/[name_u]Isra[/name_u]/[name_f]Sara[/name_f] - night journey, in Qur’an both prophet [name_m]Moses[/name_m] and [name_m]Muhammad[/name_m] (sav) have parts about night journey
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomel[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomela[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
