What goes with Whitman?

I love my husband’s middle name, [name]Whitman[/name] (his grandmothers maiden name), but am unsure of a middle name for it. Our last is [name]Anderson[/name]. don’t want anything too trendy. . . We have another son, [name]William[/name] [name]Douglas[/name] (NN [name]Liam[/name]). So we are fairly traditional. Also, any suggestions for a NN? We really don’t like [name]Whit[/name] for a boy?! Thanks!

walt :stuck_out_tongue: i kid, i kid!

personally, i think [name]Whitman[/name] as a first name is pretty heavy for a kid to carry and doesnt really lend itself to many nice nns, other than [name]Whit[/name]…possibly could stretch to Whitey? also just noticed, if you take off the w it says hitman.
you could maybe have it as a middle name, then use his initials as his name? like DW or something like that?

I actually knew a guy named [name]Brad[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] (I’m sure [name]Bradley[/name] was his whole first name). Too popular?

While I like [name]Whitman[/name], I think it’s a bit too matchy with [name]William[/name] for brothers. Also, [name]Whit[/name] is the only nn that comes to mind for it. Have you considered using [name]Whitman[/name] as a middle name instead?

I think [name]Whitman[/name] would be better as a mn too…

here’s my try with other first names:

[name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Edward[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Nicholas[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]George[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Whitman[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
