I am expecting baby #5 (girl #4) in [name_u]November[/name_u]. Finding a name that “fits” has been particularly difficult this time around.
Which would you choose? Siblings are [name_m]Augustin[/name_m], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Suggestions are also welcome.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are definitely my favorites. Either would sound great with [name_m]Augustin[/name_m], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Florence[/name_f] with your other children’s names! My second choice would be [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f]- I particularly like the spelling. Good luck!
From your list I love:
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]*
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_f]Annora[/name_f]
Like appollonia before me mentioned, all three of your girls have three-syllable, nine letter, vintage feeling names, so it’d be nice to given a fourth girl a name that too fits into those things. With that in mind and of your list, I’d go with [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], however, if you think on eradicating the doubling up of the first initial ([name_m]Augustin[/name_m]), I’d be inclined to go the way of [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f].
My personal favourites from your list are [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] (I greatly prefer it spelled [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] myself, but with your name set, the extra -le does seem to fit better), [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] & [name_f]Delphinia[/name_f] (though I do greatly prefer [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], but then that would clash with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in this your case).
I think that [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] and [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] sound the best with the sibling names and any of them would make a darling sister name! You have some gorgeous names
Honestly I think almost all your names are lovely and match well with your other children’s names. The few names I eliminated were mostly bc imo they didn’t flow with her sibling’s names.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] gets my vote. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] would be second choice. I do like [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f] (actually, I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]) but it sounds stern compared to the girly, feminine names of your other daughters.
Thank you for all the replies! I love that people picked up on the pattern with the girls’ names (though it was coincidental, as the girls have all been named for family members). The lists provided also so many names that we had discussed. I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] but couldn’t get SO on board. We also discussed names like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] at length.
So a few of my concerns:
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] was my SOs suggestion. I do like it but don’t love the nicknames [name_f]Bea[/name_f] (unless pronounced [name_u]Bay[/name_u]-uh which might be hard for people to catch on to), [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], [name_f]BeBe[/name_f]. I also worry a bit about pronunciation being a headache for her. We live in the [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_f]East[/name_f] in the US.
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]: No major issues with this one, but doesn’t have any real significance to us as a family.
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]: This is the name that makes me smile, but I am having major issues with the popularity (in or close to the SSA Top 100). Also, her full name would be the title character of an [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] poem. The character ultimately dies though it is less gruesome than some [name_u]Poe[/name_u] endings. The spelling of [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is different, but I wonder if people will make the connection. However, all things said, this name has the most significance for us. We have strong ties to the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] has a collegiate association for me. The double “A” name is not a deal breaker for us, since our son goes by [name_u]Gus[/name_u] most of the time and she would be called [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]: It fits our 9 letter pattern. It ties in the [name_f]Anna[/name_f] reference and my mother (who passed away in [name_u]August[/name_u]) had a particular fondness for the name [name_f]Elise[/name_f], so it feels special. I worry that the spelling would constantly be butchered and it feels a bit more abrupt than my older girls names. She too would go by [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]: This was a front runner for my daughter [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f]. I just dont love it like I used to and feel that the American pronunciation makes it sound abrupt and dissimilar from the other girls.
Am I over thinking all of this? At this point, my poor pregnancy hormones are playing tricks with my head and making this process much more difficult than it needs to be.
