This is great, I know one [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] who is my age (early 30s - but her parents are very religious) and a [name_f]Rita[/name_f] about the same!
I’d say names that still feel ‘old person’ rather than ‘redeemable clunky/nostalgically cute’ are…

[name_f]Edna[/name_f]
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eunice[/name_f]

[name_m]Norman[/name_m]
I like [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] so much, I think it’s super cute

A lot of names seem old until, suddenly they are not!
For me, [name_f]Barbara[/name_f], [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f], [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] and [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] are currently old(ish) sounding, but who knows if that will remain so?
I never thought [name_u]Esme[/name_u], [name_u]Florence[/name_u] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] would become fashionable again, but they have. So, I think we must never say a name is ‘old lady’. This may not always be the case. Here’s to ‘old lady’ names and their revival!
