What is more your style for girls?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone

I am curious what is more your style of names for girls.

I am unsure what mine is but I think it is a mix of classic, unusual and popular. I also like shorter names with seven or less letters, a touch of my OCD there.

What do you think your style is?

As a bonus what are a few girl names you like?

Some of mine are… Elodie, Iris, Phoebe, Sophie, Leonor, Livia, Olivia, Isabel, Eleanor, Faye, Juliet, Libby, Amelia, Annabel, Rose, Grace.

I prefer longer names, or at least names that are long enough to have nicknames. There are two kinds of girls’ names I like, uncommon but classic ([name_f]Estella[/name_f], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]) and uh… southern-ish? Not sure how to describe it, names like [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] etc. Oh, and I have a soft spot for uncommon nickname-names like [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], [name_f]Dodie[/name_f], [name_f]Bebe[/name_f], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] etc though I’d never use one in real life

I’ve noticed my style is mostly just names with O’s in them ([name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Dortea[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], etc.) and T names, especially those with the TH sound ([name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Theia[/name_f], [name_f]Theda[/name_f], [name_f]Thora[/name_f]) I don’t know if you can classify it as anything, but here in Denmark, my style would be described as either unusual or very international.
Also, short, nickname-y sounding names that can mostly stand on their own ([name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f]) My style is very all over, ranging from [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] to [name_f]Aster[/name_f].

[name_m]Light[/name_m], airy, ethereal, romantic, nature names, [name_m]French[/name_m] influence.

These days I also am into shorter first names.

I was thinking about this the other day, and while for the most part I go for slightly longer, flowing , unusual names, I also really love short names and I guess what would be considered ‘trendy’. So I’m not really sure I have a proper style as such!

Some of my faves include, [name_f]Sarai[/name_f], [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f], [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], Kerrgian, [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], [name_f]Leandra[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Camber[/name_f] and [name_f]Effie[/name_f]

I love a mixture of things! Classic names, nicknames as full names, long princess-like names, and some more unusual names

Classic names I love- [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f]
Nicknames as full names- [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f], [name_u]Penny[/name_u], and [name_f]Maddy[/name_f]
[name_f]Princess[/name_f] names- [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
Unusual (less heard)- [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f], [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f], [name_f]Astoria[/name_f], [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]

I generally like classic and feminine names for girls, though I prefer first names to not be in the top 200. Middle names can be common, unusual, or in between as long as they’re not tryndee, BNoG’s (not a fan of 99.9% of “unisex” names for girls either), or weird/made up. I also love international twists on classic names, some flowers, and tend to prefer names ending in -a with two or more syllables. Some unusual names appear on my list too.

Some of my favorites: [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Irena[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Katarina[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f], [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Paulina[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_u]Vivien[/name_u], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_u]Sasha[/name_u], [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]/[name_f]Stefania[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u]/[name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_f]Judith[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Caitriona[/name_f], [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], [name_f]Hana[/name_f], [name_f]Vada[/name_f], [name_f]Malia[/name_f], [name_f]Zoya[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliana[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Alina[/name_f]/[name_f]Alena[/name_f], [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Natalia[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]/[name_f]Liv[/name_f]/[name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], [name_f]Melina[/name_f], [name_f]Aviana[/name_f], [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Antonia[/name_f]. I like some others too, but it would take forever to type them all. lol

I’m definitely drawn to shorter names. Short, sweet, and spunky is how I like to describe my style!

I’m a big fan of medium-short names. A mix of common and uncommon but I prefer names that are easy to pronounce. My still is a little more simple and I tend to favor more unisex names although I love classic names as well (especially with a nickname)

Some of my favorites: [name_u]Campbell[/name_u], [name_u]Holland[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Shea[/name_u], [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]

So I find it easier to say what’s not my style (top 100 names - UK, word names, surnames, unisex, place names, modern/variant spellings, nicknames as full names, and I don’t know how else to put this except ‘American’ names - [name_u]Everly[/name_u] etc.) and then look at what’s left. I’d guess short/medium, vintage, ‘old lady’ names. My surname is long and we plan on double barrelling so any children’s names have to be relatively short to compensate.

I love unique names ([name_u]Sailor[/name_u] (b), [name_u]Scout[/name_u] (g), Islet, [name_u]Explorer[/name_u], [name_u]Harbor[/name_u]) and Irish names (Saorise, [name_f]Aoife[/name_f], Niamh). I also like double middles to pair with them. Although, sometimes, I really to like classics ([name_f]Ester[/name_f], [name_f]Elanore[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]), too. But my signature shows most of that. And word names are probably my favorite.

Eclectic best describes my name style.

All over the place, there seems to be no rhyme or rhythm and I have favourites in all types and styles and lengths. I am drawn to long names like [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f], [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], medium length names like [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], short and spunky names like the ones in my sig and [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Nieve[/name_f]… I love more unusual/international names that aren’t as common like [name_f]Aishwarya[/name_f], Luljeta, Arolilja, [name_u]Yehudit[/name_u], Scholastique and [name_f]Mei[/name_f]-ling. I like some “American trendee” names like [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] and [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] and classic or old lady names like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]. I have a soft spot for t instead of th names like [name_f]Marta[/name_f], [name_f]Batsheba[/name_f] and [name_f]Agata[/name_f] and word names like [name_f]Arabesque[/name_f], [name_f]Gravity[/name_f] and [name_u]Golden[/name_u]. Clever names or names with several names in one are one of my favourite things to try to find like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] nn [name_f]Isla[/name_f] (i’m also not afraid of popular names as this name probably shows lol), [name_f]Helena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Hailee[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] nn [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] nn [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and cross over names are awesome, [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u] and

I think the only thing I don’t like is completely made up names that look completely made up like…Ellmaundey or something.

My tastes depend on the day. Some days I really love and feel unisex names like [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] and [name_m]Palmer[/name_m] and others I love classics like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].

Hmm… an eclectic mix of well-established, historically feminine names with a few obvious trends: word/nature (particularly botanical), nicknames, European and vintage. And some random outliers.

A smattering: [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Bria[/name_f], [name_f]Carina[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Delta[/name_f], [name_f]Esperanza[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Olena[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Zadie[/name_f]

At the moment I really love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Maude[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]

So basically I’m love in with names popular in Edwardian [name_f]England[/name_f], my poor children haha

I like longer names, typically either three or four syllables with a somewhat intuitive shorter nickname. I like classic British names that aren’t too common at the moment, with some [name_m]French[/name_m]/Italian sounds. For middles I love nature names or word names that aren’t overly obvious? If that makes sense

It changes…currently longer spunky or lively firsts with cute nicknames, with quirky middles, often nature names

I guess id say my girl naming style is classic and unpopular, or classic with a twist. I like names that are easy enough to pronounce and spell with a history, but not too common. I also love nicknames, so a lot if the names I like are a bit longer, with a simple, easily understood nickname.
Favourites include:
[name_f]Carina[/name_f] ([name_f]Carrie[/name_f])
[name_f]Manon[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f]/[name_m]Eddie[/name_m])
[name_f]Leticia[/name_f] ([name_f]Lettie[/name_f])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] (flip)
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Nell[/name_f])

I think my taste can go all over the place, but I’m general I tend to like classic sounding names that are feminine but not frilly. I also like nature names a lot too.
