What is your favourite French girl's name?

[name]Colette[/name]! It is unusual, very French, very literary, has a lovely cadence, and manages to be both very feminine and very strong.

I love French names, especially for girls. They have such a soft, flowing quality to them and are feminine without being over-the-top. My very favorites is [name]Juliet/name. I also like [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Cecile[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name].

I adore French names! Some of my favorites: [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Clemence[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Mireille[/name], [name]Adele[/name]…

It would definately have to me Am”lie

Oh, how I love french names. I adore the name [name]Capucine[/name], and love the way it is pronounced in French but here in the US it is definitely a no-no. Realistically though I’d use either [name]Ottilie[/name] or [name]Nadine[/name] on a little girl, so cute!

My favorite that hasn’t been mentioned yet is [name]Marguerite[/name]. I also like [name]Camille[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Marie[/name] (as a first name; too overused as a middle name for me).

I have a French friend named Armelle and I love her name!

I love French names!

I used several on my girls:
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Violette[/name]
[name]Annelise[/name](not sure if this is or not but kind of feels like it is)
Roseline
[name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Juliette[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]

ok, so I could go on… And on…

[name]Madeleine[/name]! I’m not sure if its strictly French but a good friend of mine from [name]France[/name] is considering it for her baby as it is easy to pronounce in English and French.

i also love [name]Vivienne[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name] but prounounced Jhawn(rhymes with [name]Dawn[/name])-vee-ev in French) and not [name]Jen[/name]-a-veev as in English.

My favorites are [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], L”onie, [name]Ana[/name]”s, [name]Eulalie[/name], and [name]Delphine[/name].

Maylise
[name]Lilou[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lisette[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name]

[name]Melisende[/name] ([name]May[/name]-lee-SOND) I just love the way it flows - so much cooler than the English “[name]Millicent[/name],” although [name]Millicent[/name] is also nice. There is the danger than anglophones would pronounce it [name]MELL[/name]-i-send but that’s not so bad either.

Also, the alternate French form of [name]Melisende[/name] is [name]Melusine[/name]/Melusina ([name]Mel[/name]-u-SEEN/[name]Mel[/name]-u-SEEN-ah) - a great and really unusual way of arriving at the nn [name]Lucy[/name]/Lusi.

[name]Genevieve[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Genevieve[/name]

ME TOO! Armelle is so beautiful and unique. Not very common at all.
My husband loves this name too. Like the meaning too.

[name]Colette[/name]- it’s my two-year-old’s name. We call her [name]Coco[/name].

Same! [name]Lisette[/name] is the name of my [name]SIL[/name]. Though I’ve never been really entranced by French names, even though my DH is French! Haha.

My favorites are [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name]. I also really like [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Noemie[/name], and [name]Margaux[/name].

Izannah, And translates well. Being French I have a hard time understanding some of these names when anglophones say them out loud haha they are two different names depending on the language you chose! [name]Genevieve[/name] in particular since I’ve seen it pop up do much. I think it adds the unique to the names though. [name]Lord[/name] knows I say many English names wrong haha.

I’m in love with the name [name]Clemence[/name], particularly as a middle name. The French pronunciation is of course “clay-MANZ”, but I think if I used it, I’d definitely pronounce it the way it looks, like “clements”.

Ponette, but it is not on my top ten list.
