What is your favourite variation of your own name?

What is your favourite nickname/international variation of your given name? Does your name have a male/female equivalent?

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite international variation of my own name (Emily) has to be the [name_u]French[/name_u] Émilie! I also love the nicknames [name_f]Emy[/name_f], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] for my own name, but I don’t go by any of them! when I was about six or seven I decided that I wanted to go by “Mily” for a week or two but it never caught on lol. here in Australia, people intuitively shorten my name to [name_f]Em[/name_f], which I actually quite like.

The male version of my name is [name_m]Emil[/name_m], which I don’t really like the look or sound of (in my accent, it sounds like “a meal” :joy:)

I’m not aware of any name variants for my first name (Hazel), but I love some for my middle (Elizabeth).

[name_f]Liesl[/name_f], [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Yelizaveta[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], and Ellabeth are some that come to mind that I really like!!

I also love a lot of the Elizabeth variations - Betty, Elsie and Libby for nicknames, Bethan, Elisa, Elisabeth, Isabel and Liesel in terms of variations!

Not many variations of my name (Brynn) but I prefer it spelled [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] and for a boy!

I think [name_f]Brynja[/name_f] is super cool but isn’t related

Hmm, I don’t love any of the international variations of my name - [name_f]Graciela[/name_f] is kind of cool, but I think I prefer plain [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] is cool and cute for someone else; [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is kind of fun; [name_u]Gracen[/name_u] is a gp but I do kind of like it.

Armo, Chares, [name_m]Gratian[/name_m], [name_m]Hanno[/name_m] and Sulo are all masc names meaning [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Kind of liking [name_m]Hanno[/name_m] and Sulo (but i feel like it might also be a bin company where i am…)

So. Many. Variants. Of. [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I like the [name_u]French[/name_u] [name_u]Marie[/name_u], and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] the way it used to be pronounced in [name_u]England[/name_u] (muh-RYE-uh). I also like [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], although those are slightly cheating as they’ve had [name_u]Anne[/name_u] variants tacked on as well. I don’t think there’s a male version of my name - Marius??

I don’t think my name is really nicknamable…
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
I did get Ninnekins from my grandfather when I was younger, or [name_f]Nia[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is [name_f]Sterre[/name_f], a direct [name_f]English[/name_f] translation would be [name_u]Starry[/name_u], and I would get called [name_f]Star[/name_f].
