We have narrowed our names down to [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] or [name_u]Grady[/name_u] as a little brother to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. We knew a [name_u]Grady[/name_u] in college that made the name quite appealing to us but I’m curious how its perceived by others? Who do you think of when you think of a “[name_u]Grady[/name_u]”? I wonder if I had not known one what my opinion might be…
Also, what middle (both family names) do you like with [name_u]Grady[/name_u] if we choose it over [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]?
I’ve never met a [name_u]Grady[/name_u] but I quite like the name. I first heard of it in a book I read, so it makes me think of that character. So my view is a sporty, “guy next door” type and a friendly man. I think [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] sounds strong so it gets my vote.
I like [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] better than [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m]; both are fine but [name_u]Grady[/name_u] and [name_m]Allen[/name_m] really sound superb together.
I’ve never known anyone named [name_u]Grady[/name_u] personally, so I’m close to a blank slate. When I hear the name, I picture brown, curly hair, a little messy, an outdoorsy-type of guy. I don’t envision a sporty guy, so much as a guy who hikes, fishes, and can McGuyver anything.
My DH’s grandfather was a [name_u]Grady[/name_u], one of the most lovable men anyone has ever met. Our plan is [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] though.
I love [name_u]Grady[/name_u]! Makes me think of the friendly guy I went to high school with who caught the winning touchdown pass in the state football championship!
A baseball player! There was a baseball player named [name_u]Grady[/name_u] Sizemore at some point (no clue if he’s still playing). I think it has that all-American boy-of-summer nickname feel to it. I would also add outgoing and playful.
I also like the name [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] the best, I think it sounds a lot better than [name_u]Grady[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m].
I know a [name_u]Grady[/name_u] and he wears the name well. He is very artistic, laid-back and successful. I think this name does gave an outdoorsy feel to it though despite the person I know not being very outdoorsy.
I do like both names but I’m more fond of [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. It sounds boyish, athletic, authoritative and artistic. I think it would wear well on children and adults. The chief of police in our city has the first name [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. He is a well respected individual.
I picture [name_u]Grady[/name_u] as a tough hipster guy that loves to be outdoors. [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] to me feels more like a city kinda guy, that is really tech-y. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names are great choices
