So I am currently in the process of getting Hungarian citizenship. In Hungary, you must choose a name for your baby from a government issued list. If your name is not on the list, you are encouraged to choose a new one from the list upon getting citizenship. [name_m]Just[/name_m] for fun, if you were in my position, which name from the list would you choose??

[name_m]How[/name_m] fun! I’d probably go for Auróra, because if I ever changed my name, it’d probably be to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], but Ráhel and [name_f]Petra[/name_f] are some of my favorite Hungarian names, so I’d be tempted with those, too! Maybe Auróra Ráhel or [name_f]Petra[/name_f] Auróra? I’ve always LOVED [name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], for what it’s worth. I also love Amália, Amáta, [name_f]Antonella[/name_f], [name_f]Adina[/name_f], Amaja, Annamíra, [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], Cecília… oh, this is pointless, I love way too many Hungarian names to list just a handful, so I’m giving up hahaha. What an amazing and difficult decision you have a head of you!
My name is almost on the list already but if I picked something different I think I’d like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Szimóna or [name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Leonor[/name_f].
Oh this is so much fun! These are some fun combos I’d definitely think about;
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Csermely
Magdaléna Dio
Szabella [name_f]Milka[/name_f]
Zelka [name_f]Rafaella[/name_f]
I would probably keep it similar realistically, [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Sárá. But maybe a Hungarian addition, probably Fenenna which I’ve never heard but is incredible (and so similar to [name_f]Fenella[/name_f] which is a fav). [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Sárá Fenenna. Or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Ernella Sárá for the same reason.
Since my name, [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], is not on the list I’d pick Amália. Amália is a name I absolutely adore but I’m not sure I’d pick for one of my kids because in Portugal it is greatly associated with one of the country’s most famous singers. Although, if I were to live away in Hungary, it would be a name I’d gladly use for myself as it would always remember me of my roots.
