We are flat-out stumped by what to name our second son. Our last name begins with M, so no M names, and ends with “-er”, so no “-er” names. We’d like to avoid names that sound like “Colin” (Conlan, Connell, Cohen, etc.). Then some of the names we do like seem to conflict with Leo (son) and Zelie (daughter), which are both heavy on L and E sounds. Here’s the so-far short list, but none of them are The One, and I just know there have to be names we are missing… help?
Eli–do Leo and Eli together sound weird, like too similar?
Silas
Abel
Zeke–but with Zelie…?
Gabriel
Gale
Gus (Augustine)
Simon
Thiel (family name rhyming with “feel”)
Felix
Ezra
Like but won’t use (see above):
Milo
Max (Maximilian)
Malcolm
Xavier
Campion
Cohen
Asher
Walt (Walter)
Girls short list (to give you a sense of our style):
Iris
Eliza
Violet
Chloe
Normandie (kind of random, but this is a family name–we’re from a long line of Cajuns!)
Thanks, y’all!
I love [name]Gale[/name] and [name]Gus[/name] from your boys’ list, and [name]Simon[/name], [name]Felix[/name], and [name]Ezra[/name] are pretty good too.
With [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Zelie[/name], I do think [name]Eli[/name] is a bit too close- I would get them all mixed up. In the long run, though, if you like [name]Eli[/name] I’m sure it’ll be fine. They’ll only live in the same house for 15 or 20 years
Other possibilities:
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Jules[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Elliot[/name] (like [name]Eli[/name], but less similar to [name]Leo[/name]…possibly too close to [name]Zelie[/name] now)
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Axel[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Remy[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Anton[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Reuben[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name], and [name]Cai[/name], [name]Caius[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name] & [name]Seamus[/name]
[name]Leo[/name], [name]Zelie[/name] & [name]Oliver[/name]
