DH and I are expecting a baby next summer but we are team green so we will need a name of each. I think we have a boy’s first name down, so are now working on girls. Middle name will be [name]Catherine[/name] (the name of both of our mothers). Our last name is one syllable, starting with W.
The only name we can agree on so far is [name]Charlotte[/name]. I have dreamed of a daughter name [name]Charlotte[/name] (even when I was in high school and it wasn’t popular!) It seems perfect and we both love it - but it worries me that we’re skipping over some really great names and settling for the first one we agree on. I’d like to explore a whole bunch and then be confident if we pick [name]Charlotte[/name] that we did a good search.

I always go to [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Maria[/name] when I think of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name]. :))

I wouldn’t worry about “missing” some names just because [name]Charlotte[/name] has clicked with both of you immediately. When that happens, it usually means that no other name will be able to match your initial choice. But just because you and I have very similar tastes, here are some more to consider:

I think [name]Charlotte[/name] is very sweet! I agree that it is very popular right now, but if you really like it then go for it. AND feel very lucky that you and your husband agreed on a name right away! That happened with my first and we had a “moment” and instantly agreed on a name that clicked…this time due in 3 weeks and still waiting for that moment! Congrats and good luck!
[name]Charlotte[/name] is a great name and if it’s one you both automatically loved then it’s meant to be! [name]Charlotte[/name], while more popular right now, is a timeless classic, you really can’t go wrong with it.
I wouldn’t worry about skipping over something, either - even after you have your child, you will experience name crushes but since [name]Charlotte[/name] has stuck for so long, I would keep it.
