I’m just curious about this, because I look at certain names all the time and go “I think that could also be used on a girl/boy”. Does anyone else do the same?
[name_u]Fern[/name_u].
I’d love to see [name_u]Rose[/name_u] used on a boy and [name_u]Will[/name_u] on a girl (:
I think [name_f]Cate[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would both make very handsome, dashing boy names. And [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] could be cute on a girl!
Here’s a some registered as girl names that I would consider for boys:

[name_u]Clyde[/name_u]
[name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_f]Merrily[/name_f]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
Most of mine are word names or virtue names. I really like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Joy[/name_f], and [name_f]Honey[/name_f] on boys, and I love [name_u]Mars[/name_u] for a girl.
i think [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] would be lovely on a girl
I think [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] could be kinda cute for a girl actually
I’ve heard [name_f]Anita[/name_f] as a middle name of a male fictional character and I somewhat do like it on a boy, but I’d spell it with a Y (Anyta), a spelling which I am pretty sure doesn’t exist.
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] feels very gender neutral too. Actually the first [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] I heard of (Umbrella Academy) was a male and one [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] I met online was a boy too so I always associated it more with boys
As far as names I believe will show up in pink here, Dawn and Joy for boys are usually the first that come to mind for me. I know Juno might be more controversial in some ways, because it is a goddess name, but I suppose a better option is the (I believe neutral-listed) Juneau like the city in Alaska. As far as names that show up in blue, but I think could be unisex, Constantin and it’s variants often seem neutral to me (though not my style).
Others aren’t jumping out to me in this moment, but in general I think more names could be unisex than we think of as unisex, especially nature names.
[name_u]Callum[/name_u] -
It is not on the popularity chart for girls at all, but I really like [name_u]Callum[/name_u] nn [name_f]Callie[/name_f] for a girl.
[name_m]Anthony[/name_m] -
Yes, this is weird. Especially since I have a close male family member with this name. But to me it just sounds more like a girl name, and that “Annie” and “Honey” would both be more intuitive nicknames than the usual “Tony”. I wouldn’t personally use [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] for a girl though. because it has such a long history as a boy name that I think it would confuse people. I just think it could have been a girl name and I might have liked it better that way.
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]-
This has only ever been on the chart for girls, but I have no idea why. The sound and meaning both seem more like a boy’s name to me. I hate this name for girls and would like it better on a boy.
I agree with [name_u]Fern[/name_u] because where I’m from [name_u]Fern[/name_u] is considered like a masculine name especially as a nickname for [name_m]Fernand[/name_m]. It took me a long time to see [name_u]Fern[/name_u] as a feminine name when I saw it mentioned only as a feminine name on here.
Adding [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], that’s another one that took me a while to come around as being a masculine name. Being a mix of [name_f]Amber[/name_f] + [name_u]Rose[/name_u] it was such a feminine name to me so it was a shock to see it was actually traditionally masculine.
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] on a boy and [name_u]Henry[/name_u] on a girl. I just love [name_u]Henry[/name_u] on a girl but really I don’t think I will be brave enough to ever use it.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] (EEV-lin) would be great for a boy too.
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] (mer-RED-ith) for a boy, (MER-red-ith) for a girl
[name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]. It sounds to me like a blend of [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Leon[/name_u].
I do this all the time! I would especially like to meet a boy named [name_f]Ida[/name_f] and a girl named [name_m]Edwin[/name_m].
[name_u]Kitty[/name_u] on a boy as I’ve only heard it on girls (fictional girls).
Guilty pleasures are funny little things.
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. I actually prefer it on a boy.
