What names are you really really tired of?

Tell me what names tha are over done and tired of hearing them.

[name]Emily[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name] (only in nameberry does the nickname ‘[name]Nora[/name]’ seem to happen. They are all [name]Ellie[/name]'s in reality:/ ) [name]Sophie[/name],[name]Chloe[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Georgia[/name] (though I adore [name]Georgiana[/name]!)
Perhaps this is just the age I am, but every second girl in my class seems to be named one of these (aged 15/16, [name]England[/name]).

[name]Ellie[/name], (there seem to be a huge amount of baby girls being named just [name]Ellie[/name] in th Uk)
[name]Nevaeh[/name], (just vile, should be illegal)

I have also noticed that the “filler” name of choice is currently [name]May[/name]. So there an awful lot of little girls named [name]Ellie[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Lily[/name] [name]May[/name] and so on.

[name]Jacob[/name], (it’s the most common boys name in [name]Wales[/name] according to 2011 statistics)

Any made up name such as Tee-[name]Jay[/name].

There are no doubt more, but off the top of my head, those are the ones I can think of.

[name]Bella[/name], [name]Ella[/name], etc
[name]Grace[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Caden[/name], [name]Brayden[/name], [name]Jayden[/name], etc.

And sorry, but these boards have made me sick of [name]Violet[/name] :frowning:

Anything [name]Elle[/name]/[name]Ella[/name] related (except [name]Annabel[/name] for some reason)

[name]Isabella[/name]. An absolutely beautiful name that has been done to death. There are three little “Bellas” in my extended family.

And of course for boys the whole [name]Aiden[/name]/[name]Jayden[/name]/[name]Kaden[/name]/[name]Braden[/name] thing. I really, really hate this trend.

Why would anyone land their daughters with these [name]OTT[/name] grandiose names so they could not possibly grow up to be anything but frilly and frivalous blights on society?

Names that are lovely but, like a number one track, have been overplayed to death:

I actually know an [name]Aurora[/name] who is a kindergarten teacher, very hard working and down to earth. Maybe she got away by using the nickname [name]Rory[/name] though

as pp’s have said: [name]Isabella[/name]
any boys name with ‘den’ endings ([name]Aiden[/name], [name]Jayden[/name], [name]Braden[/name] etc)

[name]Penelope[/name]. I’m so tired of this on Nameberry. And [name]Scarlett[/name].

ABSOLUTELY! I know so many Georgias. And Harriets, all nn [name]Hattie[/name]. Too many of 'em! And a lot of Ellies - I know Elenas, Eleanores, Eleonoras, Ellas and Ellens that all go by [name]Ellie[/name].

On babies and toddlers, I’m sick of hearing [name]Olivia[/name]. [name]Olivia[/name] Overload in this world. If I met a [name]Livia[/name], an [name]Alivia[/name] or an Elivia, I might feel better (unless Elivia went by [name]Ellie[/name]! AUGH!)

[name]IRL[/name]: [name]Madison[/name], [name]Addison[/name], [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Mason[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], and names-that-rhyme-with-[name]Aidan[/name].
Online: [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Lilith[/name], [name]Boheme[/name], [name]Ace[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Jack[/name], & [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grayson[/name]/[name]Graydon[/name]. Oh, and [name]Katniss[/name].

[name]Nevaeh[/name] and all the other god awful made up crap

[name]Sophia[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Jade[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Arianna[/name], [name]Mackenzie[/name] and all variants, [name]Maddison[/name], [name]Alexa[/name], [name]Aidan[/name] and all variants, [name]Lily[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], and NN’s like people suggesting [name]Callie[/name] for [name]Calliope[/name] when I want to use [name]Calliope[/name] and call my child [name]Calliope[/name].

I’m tired of all of the names mentioned by others; top of my ugh list are [name]Sophie[/name]/[name]Sophia[/name], [name]Ellie[/name] and all the flower names, especially [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]. [name]Add[/name] to them any girls’ names that end in “son” ([name]Madison[/name], [name]Allison[/name], [name]Addison[/name], etc.) Why would you name a baby girl a name that means “son of?” I am also bored with all the variations of [name]Sean[/name] for both boys and girls, and [name]Aidan[/name], and those made up last names that are really occupations, like [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Carter[/name], [name]Miller[/name], [name]Parker[/name], [name]Cooper[/name], etc.

Well my name is [name]Chloe[/name] and I only know of 3 others around my age, and none of them even went to the same high school as me. But I can’t stand [name]Sharon[/name], [name]Suzanne[/name], [name]Deborah[/name], [name]Britney[/name], [name]Tiffany[/name], [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Katelyn[/name], [name]Bethany[/name], [name]Becca[/name], [name]Gabrielle[/name], [name]Ethan[/name], [name]Billy[/name], [name]Blaine[/name], [name]Kyle[/name], [name]Derek[/name], [name]Phillip[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], to name a few.

And my middle name is [name]Taylor[/name] -____- guess I have a very hateable name!

[name]TIFFANY[/name]! [name]How[/name] could I have forgotten that crapfest? [name]Every[/name] [name]Tiffany[/name] I know is bimborrific.

Well, half the names on my girls’ list have turned up here (not that I wasn’t expecting it!), but I still have to throw in some votes for [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name]. Mind you, this is only in Nameberry world… in Real Life I am most sick of [name]Lily[/name], [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Jack[/name]. They seem to be everywhere!

Oh, [name]Sophia[/name] for sure. And of course all the ellas. And the really long, flowy names like [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name]. [name]Lovely[/name], sure, but in real life they come off as a bit pretentious, don’t you think?
