What names fit my style?

So I’ve finally found “my style” yay! I was all over the place with names, but I found a style that I love and think will fit with my family…girlie feminine girl names (short or long) and cool boy names but all that would hopefully stand the test of time and not sound dated in a few years and also classy names.

Would love to think of some more, but for right now on my girl list I have the name [name]Juliette[/name] and on the boy list I have the name [name]Lucas[/name].

Would you say the name [name]Gabriella[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] fall into the category of “classic/classy names?” I know it is a bit trendy, but I still think it could fit, kwim?

What are some of your fav. classic boy and girl names?

Ask a hundred different berries what a classic name is, and you’ll get a hundred different definitions. [name]Gabriella[/name] hasn’t been used in English very long (neither has [name]Gabriel[/name]), but since it’s got a biblical origin and it’s been used as a first name in lots of other countries for a long time, I’d call it… an international classic, perhaps? 'Course, I’m assuming that you’re from the U.S. [name]Even[/name] between the U.S. and [name]England[/name], we have a few names that would mostly be considered “classic” in one country and not the other.

My favorite classics are [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], and [name]Elizabeth[/name]; [name]Edward[/name]/mund, [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], and [name]David[/name].

FTR though, I saw your other post, and I don’t think “classic” is your style at all. (I mean, look at this thread title.) For girl names, I’d call it feminissa. There’s plenty of overlap, of course, if you want to select a classic name.

ooh, that makes more sense, feminissa! Like you said, feminissa with a bit of a classics twist to it perhaps? Yeah, definitely liking the romantic girly names. Not sure how that translates to boy names though, haha. But great insight, thank you! I think for boy names I like cool/but not too trendy…those that won’t sound dated.

Hehe, thanks! [name]Gabriella[/name] has a familiar, classic flavor because she’s been on the international scene for a long time and is a variant of the biblical [name]Gabriel[/name], but she’s relatively new to English. So maybe you ought to look for more boy and girl names like that - ones that are classics in other countries, so they’re familiar to our ear, but fresh. (And you and I are pretty far apart on our style maps, but I’ll try…) For instance, the Scandinavian [name]Eric[/name] and [name]Lars[/name] - cool, not terribly common, not trendy - and not technically classic in this country, but still classy and timeless. [name]Russia[/name]‘s got some pretty, frilly girls’ names - [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Natasha[/name], [name]Galina[/name], [name]Tatiana[/name]. There’s also other languages’ frillier variations of our core girl classics - for instance, [name]Alessia[/name] instead of [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Marguerite[/name] instead of [name]Margaret[/name], etc. Nameberry’s got some great lists for stuff like that: International Baby Names | Nameberry

Wow, you’ve figured it out for me! That’s exactly my style and I think what makes it so hard is that I don’t want to find a name that is too ethnic sounding. I think [name]Juliette[/name] would probably be a good fit, although it has it’s problems…eh I think all named do
