Phoebe. He’s the one that suggested it and I fell in love with it and then he decided he didn’t like the way it sounds. He thinks it could be made fun of. 
I’m hoping he’ll come back around.
He’s vetoed many of my more elaborate girl names too. Like [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] or [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f].
He prefers more simple or common girl names.

Before we had our first, we had a list of agreed upon names. Then I actually got pregnant and he decided he didn’t like any of them! I think the only one I remember being really heartbroken about was [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. Now we have our [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and I truly couldn’t imagine her with any other name! I don’t think there have been any other major upsets!

We’v vetoed more boy names. However, he invoked his rights with:

I have used this power with his:

Elias, although we are going with [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
He also vetoed [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] which I loved! I also dont think he liked [name_u]Archer[/name_u].
Also [name_m]Breccan[/name_m] was a huge veto and pretty much all Irish names.
Sorry just realized this is in the girl section. We are having a boy so didn’t even discuss girl names. We are not that couple who had our names picked out in advance. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is very practical, and an in the moment type person. He isn’t good with theoreticals. We came to discuss names only after knowing the gender. Im scared to show him my girl list honestly because I feel much more emotionally invested in it and if he vetos my favorite girl names, Im going to be sad!
Luckily he did compromise with me on [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] because I dont think he really liked it too, too much. But we ended up choosing [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]- a name we both really love. Although I did prefer [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. But knowing that he loves [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] so much makes it more special!

Haha I do the same! I suggest them in case he’s forgotten that he doesn’t like them/changes his mind.
For me it is Lola … 
He doesn’t like Clara, Elodie, or Jemima either but they don’t leave me as sad as him not liking Lola.
I voted against his suggestions of Mariah and Euphemia.

He has mentioned that he’d be open to [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] as a middle though, so there’s that.

No worries! I love hearing them all! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I agree on almost all boys names and could probably name 6 boys right now with no problem. I tell him that we’re destined for girls because of that.

Haha yeah isn’t that how it goes! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband was annoying to discuss names with. He was very quiet and methodical about it. He was in awe of the massive list I brought to the conversation. He thought I got the list like off Pinterest or something. He was in total awe when i told him I came up with all the combinations myself!! He didn’t add any suggestions- he just vetoed names he didn’t like and then there were some he said he wanted to think about! Well he literally thought about them for like two months before finally telling me which name he wanted to go with!! It was a process. And in the meantime I had mistakenly told my mom our top choices and she started calling the baby [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] when I told her that wasn’t a final decision yet. I think my mom being so annoying made us like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] more!!!

I’d say my two big ones are [name_m]Truman[/name_m] and [name_m]Winston[/name_m]. Though, my husband likes [name_m]Truman[/name_m] as a middle name, and really likes [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], which I like almost as much as [name_m]Winston[/name_m], so I’m not too upset about it.
Some other ones that I really like that he doesn’t care for so much:
[name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_m]Lucien[/name_m], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f]
Though, I think I could probably talk him into anything. But I guess I do want him to like our kid’s names too.

I’ve vetoed [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] /Makayla for girls and [name_u]Beaux[/name_u] for boys.[name_u]Love[/name_u] the look of [name_u]Beaux[/name_u], but not the sound.

My dh even vetoes names for hypothetical babies. He hates [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] for some reason. He hates [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] too, which I love as a mn for [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. Thankfully he likes [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]! He loves [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], but not the nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]. 
And he’s not horrified by [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but would be very hesitant to agree to it because it’s our good friends’ [name_m]Basset[/name_m] Hound’s name. She’s a delight though, so I see no problem using her name! 
For boys I know that he hates [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] & [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], sadly. And definitely [name_m]Colm[/name_m], but I don’t think that I’m brave enough to use that anyway.
My husband was really good at vetoing names and not very good at suggesting new ones. It was frustrating!
The hardest ones to let go of were [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. For a boy, it was the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

Everything except [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] was ultimately vetoed but these are the ones I remember us having conversations about and pulling for, some more than others. I like many of the names I vetoed on his list, they just didn’t make the top cut.
