What names have we missed?

Wanted to suggest Everil (g), a form of [name_f]Everild[/name_f] which means “boar battle”

More names (mostly) of Native American origin.

Ohio (m): Another name that’s most famous as the name of a US state and a river, Ohio is of Native American (Iroquois) origin and means “good river”, “great river”, or “large creek”. Unfortunately, Ohio is also a modern slang word for dumb or weird. That kind of ruins it, despite what a good name it would make otherwise.

Olathe (f): A name of Native American (Shawnee) origin meaning “lovely, beautiful”. Olathe, a town in [name_m]Kansas[/name_m], is said to be directly named for the natural beauty of its 19th century self. Any little girl would be lucky to be given such a, well, lovely name.

Omaha (u): A city in Nebraska, Omaha is named for the Native Americans who originally inhabited the land. Their name is Native American (Omaha) and means “against the current” or “upstream people”.

Onawa (f): A name of Native American (possibly Algonquin) origin meaning “awake”. This name is linked to the lunar cycle in many Native American cultures.

Oni (u): This three-letter name traces its origins back to three different cultures. As a Native American (unknown tribe) name, it is primarily female and means “born on holy ground”. As a name of [name_m]West[/name_m] African (Nigerian and Yoruba) origin, it is unisex means “born in a sacred abode” and “today”. Lastly, I’m not sure if Oni is ever used as a personal name in this regard, but it is the name of a race of supernatural beings in Japanese culture. It is said to mean “demon”.

[name_f]Onida[/name_f] and [name_f]Onyda[/name_f] (f): A name of Native American (Oneida, [name_f]Sioux[/name_f], and Iroquois) origin meaning “long-awaited (child)”. These names are both related to [name_f]Oneida[/name_f], which bears the same meaning.

[name_f]Opa[/name_f] (f): A name of Native American (Choctaw) origin meaning “owl”.

[name_m]Pallaton[/name_m] (m): A name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “fighter, warrior”.

Patamon (m): Possibly a name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “tempest” or “raging”. However, this is also the name of a Digimon in the show Digimon: Digital Monsters. His name (the Pata- part, anyway) is derived from a Japanese onomatopoeia patapata, which means “flap”.

Patwin (m): A name of Native American (Patwin) origin meaning “legendary man”.

Paytah (u?, primarily m): A name of Native American (Sioux) origin meaning “fire”. Though primarily used for males, I could see this working for females too.

Pilan (m): A name of Native American (Mapuche) origin meaning “(god of) thunder and lightning”. In the Mapuche culture, Pilan is a supreme deity responsible for creating storms, healing, and maintaining balance between heaven and earth.

Powa (m): A name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “wealthy”. The first syllable in this name packs a real punch and its meaning could be considered lucky.

[name_m]Quanah[/name_m] (f): A name of Native American (Comanche) origin meaning “sweet-smelling, fragrant”. Though this name has a masculine entry, I’m confused as to whether or not it’s also feminine. If it isn’t, please disregard this suggestion.

Quelatikan (m): A name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “blue horn”.

Rowtag (m): Possibly a name of Native American (Algonquin) origin meaning “fire”. Rowtag is also apparently the name of an owl character in the Dungeons & Dragons-like (forgive me if that isn’t correct) game Legends of Elohey. In this context, his name means “born of rain”.

Sahale (m): A name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “falcon”.

Sakima (u?, primarily m): A name of Native American (possibly Ojibwe) origin meaning “chief” or “king”. Though this name is masculine, I see it actually heading to the feminine side if it gains more popularity.

Taimah (m): The Anglicized form of Tewameha (mentioned below).

Tewameha (m): A name of Native American (Meskwaki) origin meaning “sudden crash of
thunder”.

[name_m]Tennessee[/name_m] (u): Another name that is most popular as a state in the US, [name_m]Tennessee[/name_m] is of Native American (Cherokee) origin and means “where the waters meet” and “gathering place”.

Wicasa (m): A name of Native American (Dakota) origin meaning “man”.

Wohehiv (m): A name of Native American (possibly Cheyenne) origin meaning “dull knife”.

Wuyi (m): A name of Native American (Miwok) origin meaning “soaring turkey vulture”. Wuyi is also a variant of the Yoruba surname Olawuyi, which means “wealth is greater”.

Wynono (m): A name of Native American (Sioux) origin meaning “first-born son”. Wynona’s masculine counterpart.

Wyome, Wyomie, and [name_f]Wyomia[/name_f] (f): Wyome is a name of Native American (Shoshone) origin meaning “wide plain” or “broad meadow”. Wyomie and [name_f]Wyomia[/name_f] are spelling variants. The state name, [name_f]Wyoming[/name_f], is suspected to be derived from Wyome.

Yahto (m): A name of Native American (Sioux) origin meaning “blue”.

Yotimo (u): A name of Native American (possibly Miwok or Moquelumnan) origin possibly meaning “yellow jacket carrying food to its hive” and possibly a name of Inuit origin meaning “a yellow jacket used for carrying pieces of meat from the house to the nest”. I’m a bit confused on this one.

Yottoko (m): A name of Native American (unknown tribe) origin meaning “mud at the water’s edge”.

Youkioma (m): A name of Native American (possibly Hopi) origin, possibly meaning “almost perfect”.

Yutu (m): A name of Native American (Miwok) origin meaning “to claw” or “coyote out hunting”.
