Would love to see Aase, Yggdrasil, & Ramund added

Yggdrasil - Norse, unisex, meaning “Odin’s horse”, is the name of the life tree in Norse mythology

Ramund - Danish/Scandinavian/Norse, pronounced “rah-moond”, masculine, variation of Raymond meaning “protection”, notably the name of the titular character from a Danish folk song & poem dating back to the 1600’s

Annadel, the name of a nice state park in Northern CA and a way for those of us who used to like Annabel(le) to love the name still, but get rid of the overused bel/le!

I admittedly don’t know if it has usage as a first name, but I’d love to see Jemison in the database! It’s already been recommended in a few Nameberry-published lists and articles despite not being an entry.

The association with [name_f]Mae[/name_f] Jemison, the first [name_m]Black[/name_m] woman to go to space, is a great one. Plus, it’s so similar to [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] that it feels very approachable as a first name. And the nicknames are endless!

Also, why are some names added so quickly and others just ignored? :frowning:

I may be wrong but I believe names are added in batches rather than as they’re suggested, so some seem to be added quickly as they just make the cut off point for the next batch of names

Thanks, but some that were suggested after mine have apparently been added.

This is true. And not every single suggested name will be added, although many are. But it does take a while to get through them all, which is why we tend to wait and then add a bunch at once.

I can’t see any from after your first post here that have been added. If they are linking, that means they were already in the database (eg. Channary).

Ahh thank you, yes I thought of [name_f]Channary[/name_f].

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], OK. Sometimes people accidentally suggest names that are already in the database. Names added after people post them won’t retrospectively show the name links.

I will try and add another bunch of these soon!
