What names outside of the top 20 are popular in your area?

Are there names in your area you hear ALL the time but isn’t super high (like top 20) on your countries popularity list? And on the flip side are there names in the top 20 that you’ve never met in real life (especially on a baby or child?)

The names I hear all the time for girls are [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f], [name_f]Nayeli[/name_f], & [name_f]Marisol[/name_f]. And the ones I’ve never met in real life are [name_f]Aria[/name_f] & [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
For boys the names I hear more frequently than their popularity indicates are [name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] & [name_m]Dawson[/name_m]. I think the only one I haven’t heard on a baby or child recently that’s in the top 20is [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. Though I know a lot of them who are late teens or older.

Well, lets see…

I hear [name_f]Isla[/name_f] a ton, & I can’t believe that it’s not higher than 57. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is 73, & I feel like a bunch of little babies are called that too. And most surprising, how is [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f]/Adelynn not higher? Basically 9/10 little girls I meet are either [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

For boys, I run into a whole lot of Hudsons & Theodores.

The main ones for me are [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]. For girls I’ve heard [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] a lot lately, and actually [name_f]Margot[/name_f] too, which isn’t even in the top 100.

I hear a lot of [name_u]Riley[/name_u] (both male and female. I think I know about 6 or 7)
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]…

They’re the only ones I can think of right now!

I’ve never actually met a [name_u]Willow[/name_u]. I don’t spend much time around young kids so I can’t really comment on what’s popular!

I don’t spend much time around kids, but names that I hear a LOT of that aren’t Top 20 here:

Girls:

  • Erin
  • Lucy
  • Zoe
  • Danielle
  • Rebecca / [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]
  • Julia
  • Laura
  • Lauren (I know a pair of brothers who are both married to [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]’s… who have the same middle name… and the same maiden name initial… and both took their husband’s names… it’s confusing)
  • Anna
  • Hannah
  • Bridget

Boys:

  • Samuel
  • Kyle
  • Daniel
  • Alexander
  • Christopher
  • Patrick

Unisex:

  • Morgan
  • Casey

In top 20 but I never heard of a baby named that:
[name_f]Meryem[/name_f]
[name_f]Defne[/name_f]
[name_f]Eslem[/name_f]
Nehir

Miran (makes sense though, it ranked #95 in 2018 and #8 in 2019! What an increase!)
Alparslan
[name_m]Muhammed[/name_m] [name_u]Ali[/name_u] (no wonder how those parents found it haha)

Out of top 20 but I hear all the time:
[name_u]Derin[/name_u]
[name_f]Alya[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_u]Arya[/name_u]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]

Kuzey
[name_m]Kaan[/name_m]
[name_m]Poyraz[/name_m]
Doruk
[name_m]Efe[/name_m]

I’ve never met an [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] (number 21 so close enough), [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Muhammad[/name_m] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. I’ve met loads of people with Welsh names, which don’t usually get used enough to make the top 100 (couldn’t find one for just [name_m]Wales[/name_m] and [name_f]England[/name_f] has so many more people). I also know a lot of girls called [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f].

Avery / [name_f]Averie[/name_f] / Avereigh. I know oh so many under the age of 5 of all genders with that name (it doesn’t even rank in the top 100 in my state).

I’ve met so many Nathaniels, [name_m]Owens[/name_m], Theodores, Calebs, [name_m]Daniels[/name_m], Carters, Henrys, [name_u]Sam[/name_u]/Samuels, Madisons, [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]/Madeleine/Madelines, Elizabeths, Graces, Brooklyns and [name_m]Julias[/name_m]! But in the top 20 of my area, I’ve never met a [name_f]Aria[/name_f] (g), [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_u]Logan[/name_u] (b), [name_u]Grayson[/name_u], [name_u]Lincoln[/name_u] or [name_u]Hudson[/name_u].

A really popular name where I live would probably be [name_m]Albee[/name_m], [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] for girls and for boys, [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], and [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. For the top names I have not personally met a [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], or [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f].
