I love my top names list. And it’s quite a boring feeling haha. I need some inspiration!

What are some names you would like to see me make combos with in my UC?

These can be:

  • names you think I’d love
  • names I’ve mentioned before that didn’t quite make the top 25 cut
  • names you love that you want to see what I would do with
  • names you know I don’t like and you want to challenge me with

Whatever floats your boat.

Depending on how many suggestions I receive, you might not see every name used, but I’d love to make as many new combos as possible!

I’ve updated my UC with a few of these! (Or I will, after I post this)

I wanted to give a little explanation into the combos and why I chose them the way I did. I still plan to create more combos with the last four comments of suggestions (@Greyblue, @katinka, @acajou, and @anon47024950) but I needed to complete a little project related to school and I used a few of the names that would help.

See, in my poetry course, we’re writing sapphics this week. A sapphic follows a specific syllable and stress pattern with trochees and dactyls. We were supposed to come up with a key that would help us remember the sounds of trochees and dactyls, and my professor’s example was the name [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] [name_u]Garland[/name_u] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (dactyl, trochee, trochee). I knew that I absolutely had to do a name combo for mine so I took to this thread to find my inspiration, figuring I’d knock out the assignment and come up with some new combos! [name_f]My[/name_f] key ended up being [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_u]Hero[/name_u] (trochee, dactyl, trochee).

But because I was feeling inspired, I created more combos with trochee and dactyl names. I also created some wonderful meanings. Honestly, I was far more excited about the names than I was about my poem so I included them in the assignment I submitted. I’ll be honest, I used my American pronunciation for [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] so it would count as a dactyl and I am, in fact, not sorry about it. So here are my sapphic combos.

Phoebe Nimue Hero (trochee dactyl trochee)— “bright hero of the lake” - beautiful flow and meaning!

Thisbe Elowen Atlas (trochee dactyl trochee)— “to endure death and heartbreak” - the rhythm is impeccable and I love the mystical feel

Merida Sunset Juno (dactyl trochee trochee)— “venerable soldiers of the queen” - what a courageous and bright sounding name!

Suvi Mariner (trochee dactyl)— “summer traveler” - these combo is absoultely dreamy and definitely one after my own heart

Zélie Esmeray Piper (trochee dactyl trochee)— “noble song of the dark moon” - wow, dark, mystical and intriguing

Gaia Esteri [name_f]Ziva[/name_f] (trochee dactyl trochee)— “the earth beneath the bright star” -[name_f]Esteri[/name_f] is interesting and I really enjoy the sparky, interesting meaning
