What names would you add and remove from this list?

I’m trying to develop a list of playful, cheeky, and spunky boys names, and would love some opinions! I imagine all of these boys to love nature, the sea, and playing outside with their siblings. I feel they’d likely all be very independent and close-knit, preferring to explore and learn on their own, but they’d immediately go running to their siblings to show and share their new skills.

Bonus question - What combos would you make from this list? What sister names would you expect to see from someone with this list?

Great list!

I think I’d probably remove these:

[name_u]Moses[/name_u] → feels heavier than the others, not ‘playful’ to me

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] → doesn’t feel ‘spunky’ to me

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] → similar to [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. But [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] do work for me :person_shrugging:

(equally, I think they could make great middles for the list!)

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] have more of a cozy, shy, bookish vibe to me! [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] does feel playful and spunky, but not very nature-loving/outdoorsy to me, since it’s the kind of name that I’d expect trendy parents in a highly populated urban American city to choose. And I’m not sure exactly what vibe [name_u]Moses[/name_u] has, but to me it doesn’t match the playful, spunky & outdoorsy feel either.

I’d remove [name_u]Moses[/name_u], [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u], and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]. [name_u]Moses[/name_u] feels very serious, scholarly, and religious, which I don’t think matches with the vibe of this set. [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] doesn’t feel vintage like the others, and I think its Sanskrit origins stand out compared to the other mostly [name_f]English[/name_f] or Western European choices. I think it would work in individual pairs, like [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] or [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u], but in the set as a whole it stands out. [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] I find too modern and wordy with the rest of the list.

What a beautiful list! We had [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] on our list for our boy. We also love [name_m]Finnick[/name_m] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m].

I suggested to my husband [name_m]Soren[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Moses[/name_u], [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] & [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. He suggested [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. Definitely names we discussed about at one point :slight_smile:

[name_u]Bodhi[/name_u], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], & [name_m]Finnick[/name_m] all seem a little bit like style outliers, compared to the rest of the list. The rest of the list, though, are stellar names! I’m biased because my first son’s name is [name_u]Rory[/name_u], and some of the rest of these were on our list. :blue_heart:

I’d remove [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (since it’s so closely associated with the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] books which are problematic), [name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] (it insensitive to use [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u] as a name as it holds spiritual significance in Buddhism and is not traditionally used as one).

I’d add [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] and [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] instead.
