Super common! My bf has one. Honestly, our kid(s) will probably have at least two middles – there’s a lot of history we want to honor.
Students with two middles show up on class rosters. I would have loved to have been given a second middle and have given myself one for good measure.
I have 2 middle names and I am in the USA. It is honestly annoying. It is difficult to fill out official paperwork…there is never enough space for my full name and you can only ever put one middle initial…(my middle name is not hyphenated so I technically have 2 middle initials…) and important documents (like my passport) always get messed up. I don’t hate my name but it has proven bothersome more than once. I have refused to give my kids 2 middle names out of practicality.
All my children have three middle names and they love them. Esp. the stories behind each one, it make them feel special. On forms I fill out on their behalf, I usually write, “[first name] KPA [last name].”
Being pregnant with my fourth, the hardest part is keeping up the tradition… I’ve already used up twelve of my favorite baby names on the older kids!
