I am days away from having our baby girl and we still can’t decide on a name. I would love to know your favourite out of our shortlist please. Sibling to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f].
[name_f]Posie[/name_f]! I love that floral, meadow, springtime feel for a spring-born little girl. Totally fresh, light, and loving. Feels wearable but dreamy at the same time.
[name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] options! I like [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]! I like how they’re both 3 syllables like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]. [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] might be too close too [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] in my opinion.
This is hard! [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] are all names I like. Maybe [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] are too close to [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] though
I love the golden flair of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] but the spunky, zippy [name_f]Annika[/name_f] is a light too. I’m thinking I’m leaning towards [name_f]Annika[/name_f] but honestly, can’t go wrong here
They’re all wonderful options, you really can’t go wrong. It’s hard to choose but based purely on sibling cohesion I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] sounds the best with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]. I do love the fun, fresh sound of [name_f]Posie[/name_f] though.
Posie/or [name_f]Posey[/name_f] for sure. All are cute but I fear [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] is rather close to [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] and will be difficult for kids to pronounce. She could very likely end up going by a nickname more than her real name. I love [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] too but they are beciming more and more popular every day. I think there are less likely to be as many Posies, and that it is just so cute and happy and goes really well with your first two girl names. They are all unique unto their own but thats the tie that binds them in a sense. If [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] ever goes by [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] then they also have the common ie/y ending sound, which also gives them nice flow. Would love to hear a follow up as to which you decide to go with. Have any of the 3 names been with you for a very long time? If so, then maybe thats the one you go with, if its always meant something to you or spoken to you. Good luck! You cant go wrong with any!
I’m going to go against the current here by saying that I think [name_f]Posie[/name_f] is the least fitting choice. It’s a word name with a non-standard spelling, has no real usage (from a historical standpoint), and it’s very juvenile sounding. By comparison, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] are very strong, formal and mature, have a lot of history, and they have a complete feel to them, whereas [name_f]Posie[/name_f] doesn’t fit those standards. Now, if your two kids were [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], then I think [name_f]Posie[/name_f] would be just fine but, as a full name, it doesn’t work with the siblings.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] are better suited but, I think they’re a bit too much. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] are well-known and relatively commonly used, depending on where you are. Whereas [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] are way rarer and not as well known. They’re also very long, frilly and exaggerated in nature (princessy-type names), which I personally love, but I think they overshadow [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], which a more ‘normal’ names by comparison. Also, as a pet peeve for me, [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] both start with the same letter, and leave poor [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] out of the trend.
So, having said all that, my favourite is [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. It’s 3 syllables, like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], it has the same kind of down-to-Earth vibe as well. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] sounds like siblings to me - they just click together in terms of style and length, plus I really do like [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. It’s an underused name (at least where I’m at) but it’s warm and familiar, and I think it’s beautiful.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
She’s elegant, strong, feminine and impactful. She feels cohesive with [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] & [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has the strength of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] but the pretty European flair of [name_f]Eleni[/name_f].
You perfectly encapsulated every single thought I had. Another vote for [name_f]Annika[/name_f]! And I completely agree that [name_f]Posie[/name_f] is definitely the least fitting.
Annika for the win! It’s strong and steadfast like [name_f]Ann[/name_f], but the -ika ending is unexpected and fun.
The other names are interesting, but I worry about pronounciation issues with Eulalia and Aurelia, since they are so vowel-heavy with no hard consonants. I find them hard to say, especially with Eleni. And Posie is just too cutsey for me to imagine on an adult or a more serious child. I’m sure that could change if I met a serious woman of that name, but all I can think is the flower and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] Labrant’s daughter of social media fame.
I feel [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] quite possible could be shortened to [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] to [name_f]Lala[/name_f] or Lalie. I like the alliteration…
[name_f]Leni[/name_f] and [name_f]Lala[/name_f]
[name_f]Leni[/name_f] and Lalie
Don’t like [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as much. Would continue using [name_f]Annika[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f]
