On other threads I have seen folks mentioning that certain names remind them of a baby born in a particular season (summer, autumn, winter, spring). That made me curious what season my favorite girl names seem like they’d be born under. What do you think?
Sansa and [name]Astoria[/name] feel very wintery to me and [name]Kalindi[/name] feels very summery.
I don’t think it’s necessarily that every name has a “season” so much that a lot of names have some connection to the season. A color or gemstone attaching to the birthstone of a certain month (ie. [name]Ruby[/name] or [name]Scarlett[/name]). A character in a play or movie that takes place primarily in a certain season (ie. [name]Clara[/name] or [name]Heidi[/name]). A name that reminds you of a certain holiday or season (ie. [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Coral[/name], [name]Lark[/name]). Or it might have a connection to a place that’s known for a certain type of weather (ie. [name]Anastasia[/name] or [name]Leilani[/name])
With a lot of names, it’s more just feeling. [name]Astoria[/name] has a very stately feel to me, like it would belong to someone very proper and buttoned up, maybe even a bit cold. [name]Kalindi[/name] sounds very tropical, like [name]Leilani[/name], so I picked summer.
Sansa - Late summer, early fall
[name]Astoria[/name] - [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Kalindi[/name] - Late spring, early summer.
Sansa seems super sunny to me, yet rather than a bright yellow, I see more of a bronze, so the transition from summer to fall seemed best.
[name]Astoria[/name] seemed very prim and proper, like someone belonging to a royal family, and I’ve always associate winter with being a more ‘formal’ season.
[name]Kalindi[/name] reminds me of flowers, but the feel of the name is summery, so the transition from spring to summer worked best for me.
