I’m writing a novel about a cult and the different people affected by it. The members of this group change their names to very unusual names, which I’ve had no problem with, but the tough part is naming the one main character who’s a total outsider to the group but trying to find and deprogram someone who’s in it. I want him to have a normal and sturdy (but appealing) name in contrast with the group’s more fanciful ones. So these are the options I’ve come up with:
