I likely won’t have the kitten for a few months yet, but that won’t stop me searching for names! Birmans are fluffy, white cats that can have dark faces/ears/tail. They are super friendly and cuddly and regal-looking, but are really just big softies. I’m trying to find the perfect name that suits him. (This kitten will be male).
My very favourite so far has been [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. I love the sound and the meaning, and even how it looks. However, the fam isn’t on board with it. (They think it’s “too much”.) I’m thinking of going ahead and using it anyway, but I’d really like it if we could all love the name.
Some names we’ve tossed around already were [name_u]Sully[/name_u] (I could warm up to it) and [name_m]Louis[/name_m], the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation. (I would like it if it didn’t bring to mind a creepy uncle, for some reason). A third name was [name_u]Beau[/name_u], but it was considered to be “too short”.
Our last Birman cat was named Moose, not by us but by his breeder’s vet technician. We couldn’t decide on a name for him either before the vet named him.
