Does [name]Roman[/name] and [name]August[/name] sound too Emperor-ish?
maybe a bit, but I like this combo.
Does [name]Roman[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] have too much emphasis on the “N”?
Yes–it’s not jsut the N but the 2 syllables ending in the same -muhn sound
I prefer [name]Simon[/name] to [name]August[/name], when paired with [name]Roman[/name]. [name]Roman[/name] is a fantastic name, and [name]Simon[/name] complements it well without being overly matchy like [name]August[/name].
I agree that both [name]Simon[/name] and [name]August[/name] are great names, but [name]Roman[/name] & [name]Simon[/name] are way too matchy. I don’t think [name]Roman[/name] and [name]August[/name] are obnoxiously matchy, just related. And many people won’t even notice.
Ironically, the two things you are concerned about with [name]August[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] are the two “problems” I notice immediately. However, the issue with [name]August[/name] is less of a big deal to me, and [name]August[/name] is SO handsome, that I say go with [name]August[/name].
I also agree with this. [name]Roman[/name] and [name]Augustus[/name] might make for a theme, but I don’t think [name]August[/name] and [name]Roman[/name] do. I do like all three names, though.
I prefer [name]August[/name] with [name]Roman[/name]. [name]Roman[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] sound too similar for my taste (half the name sounds the same— plus, the cadence is pretty much identical). [name]Roman[/name] and [name]August[/name] are certainly ancient [name]Rome[/name] themed, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It may make it hard to break away from this trend if you end up having a third kid though.
I prefer [name]Roman[/name] and [name]August[/name] because I really like [name]August[/name] and I feel [name]Simon[/name] is a very dated old man’s name, but that’s just my opinion.
