My husband is dead set on naming a boy [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] K III. I am not a fan of the idea but he is set on it so I need some ideas on compromising through nick names. My husband and his Dad go by [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m]. my brother-in-law is [name_m]David[/name_m] so that is out and my nephews name is [name_m]Trey[/name_m] so that is out. Not a fan of [name_m]Tripp[/name_m]. [name_u]Trace[/name_u] is ok. My husband was called KD as a kid but he hated it. Any body have any ideas? Either a play on his first or middle or being a third.
Is he open to the idea of [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] with a different middle name? Or a different first with [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] as middles?
I wish but he is pretty set on being a full on III. A lot of it I think is pressure from his parents. I have been trying to convince him to use [name_m]David[/name_m] as a middle and use a different first name but he seems pretty on using the full name.
Our next name that is picked out for a boy is a similar situation -we used the letters across the name and pulled an obvious nn that people will totally get and it won’t be an issue. I assume you’re looking for something similar? [name_m]Kelvin[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] III could have one of a ton of options
Kel [name_f]El[/name_f] [name_m]Vin[/name_m] [name_u]Vinny[/name_u] [name_m]Dave[/name_m] [name_f]Ave[/name_f] T a part of your surname perhaps ?
[name_m]Tripp[/name_m] is an awesome name for a III! Too bad you don’t like it. I like [name_u]Trace[/name_u] too.
[name_m]Chip[/name_m] for chip off the old block? Lol
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]? As a nickname basically meaning son it could easily work if you like it.
Are you sure calling him [name_m]David[/name_m] is out? I can see two Kelvins in the same house would be confusing, but assuming you don’t live with your brother-in-law I think it could work fine. Feels a bit strange to give your son 2 names neither of which can he can use.
Hm, the only things I can think of are:
[name_m]Kellan[/name_m]
[name_m]Callan[/name_m]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Kelton[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Trent[/name_m]
[name_m]Trenton[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] {biblical meaning, “three”}
[name_m]Dawson[/name_m] {“son of [name_m]David[/name_m]”}
Good luck!
I like the suggestion of [name_m]Vin[/name_m] a lot! It sounds modern and works for the name!
