What type of neighborhood do you live in and what names are popular there

I live in The USA in a south eastern state. I live in a small town of about 500 people right outside of a city with about 30,000 people. It’s more a suburban area and I would say most fall under middle class…

Names common here.

[name]Jackson[/name]
[name]Aiden[/name]
[name]Hayden[/name]
[name]Brayden[/name]
[name]Braxton[/name]
[name]Bentley[/name]
[name]Brantley[/name]
[name]Waylon[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Hunter[/name]
[name]Bryar[/name]

[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Shelby[/name]
[name]Allie[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Jasmine[/name]
[name]Alexis[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]McKenna[/name]
[name]Braelyn[/name]
[name]Bryar[/name]

There are a lot of Bryars and hunters of both sexes here.

I’m not a fan of these types of names so the ones I like lucky for me are less common here.

Like [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] etc.
[name]Henry[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Max[/name]

Erm, I live between the suburbs and the straight-up country of Mennonite-land.

Where I live doesn’t really count as the suburbs at all–it’s too far away from any little town, even–but it’s also not really country enough to be the boon-docks, either. But there is a fairly good-sized city within half an hour, with a heavy Latino population, which definitely affects naming trends. I grew up around Mennonites, and there’s a heavy Welsh population to the south and Dutch (as in Netherlands Dutch) to the north. And heavy [name]German[/name] everything, lol. I haven’t really noticed that that’s especially affected naming trends, though.

There’s not a ton of kids on my street, not under the age of 10 or so, but there are a couple:

[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Caitlin[/name]

The only ones I’m sure about are [name]Molly[/name] and [name]Caitlin[/name]–I believe [name]Andrew[/name]'s the brother to [name]Caitlin[/name]. Maybe. I live on a very long street and I’m too busy with work and job hunting to really get out much these days.

Erm, I honestly don’t hear a ton of names a lot. Most of the kids I know are inner-city kids I know from outreach through my church, so they all have quite kre8tiv, made-up names, but the names I’ve heard with some frequency:

[name]Elijah[/name] (over 20 times! It’s so popular here!)
[name]Francisco[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name]

[name]Autumn[/name] (at least 10 times!)
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name] (between [name]Francisco[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name], I could swear I’ve heard both at least 10 times in the past 2 years, if not more…)
[name]Natalie[/name]

I hear of a couple Isabellas, Olivias, Ethans, Masons, etc., but nothing like I hear [name]Elijah[/name], [name]Jacob[/name], [name]Autumn[/name], [name]Cora[/name], and the Franks…

I live in a very multi-cultural and large city in [name]Canada[/name].

Here we have everything, honestly. I went to school with a Shagana (Tamil Name), a [name]Mindy[/name], and [name]Sally[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] twinset. And there were many other ethnic names, and still are.

Right now, my brother has two [name]Henry[/name] Gs, with the same last name in the same class. So they’re called [name]Henry[/name] 1 and [name]Henry[/name] 2. My brother even has [name]Henry[/name] G 1 saved as that in his email contacts.

I work at a daycare about an hours distance via bus further into the city. There our common repetitions are:
[name]Joshua[/name] - We’ve had four at a time in one class before, and a total of five in the daycare since I started in [name]November[/name] 2011. Their ages range from 8-12.
[name]Olivia[/name]/[name]Olivea[/name] - two, one of each spelling. [name]One[/name] being 3, the other 9.
[name]Naomi[/name] - two, one being 3, the other 12.
[name]Michaela[/name]/Nikalya/[name]Micayla[/name] - all over 7.
[name]Kayden[/name], [name]Ayden[/name], Jayzen, [name]Jayden[/name], [name]Jaden[/name] - Kindergarten, kindergarten, preschool, school age, school age
[name]Ethan[/name] - We’ve had two, and I’ve noticed the name around a lot the city for the last 5 or so years.

Those are all the duplicates I can think of right now.

I live in a rural area in the north west of [name]England[/name], near the Lake District. There is low unemployment here and many people are either professionals or are involved in farming, trade, leisure or services. Rural areas in the UK tend to be quite affluent especially near national parks. Common names are given below - these are all preschool aged children:

Girls:
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Edith[/name]
[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Evie[/name]/[name]Eva[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Martha[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name]

I know at least two of each of these. I hate to add [name]Edith[/name] but since my daughter was born last [name]June[/name] there have been two more [name]Edith[/name]'s in the neighbouring villages! Our daughter was the first though & overall I don’t think it’s a hugely common name in the UK. It’s a very close knit community so people hear what other children are called in the area & I’m sure this influences their naming choices.

Boys:
[name]Albert[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Freddie[/name]
[name]Finn[/name]

[name]Jake[/name]
[name]Joshua[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Stanley[/name]
[name]William[/name]

We’re in the ‘nappy valley’-- an affluent area of SW [name]London[/name] where everyone comes to have kids. We know a [name]Lottie[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Eleanore[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Lily[/name], and [name]Evie[/name]. Boys we know are [name]William[/name], [name]Hector[/name], [name]David[/name], [name]Benedict[/name], [name]Alfie[/name], [name]Bertie[/name], [name]Eben[/name], and [name]James[/name].

I’m in a coastal town, among some rather uppity suburbs of [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name] City.

Girls:
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name]

I live in the [name]West[/name] Coast of [name]Scotland[/name] in a tiny village which has around about 450 people living in it. We only have a shop, a couple of hotels, a bakery, chip shop and that’s about it. We are still very traditional and most sons are named after their fathers. They is only about 50 children that go to the primary school and the high school is half an hour away and pupils come from all the surrounding five villages and around 100 people go there. As it’s such a small place most people have different names so I will just say some of the ones that come to my mind.

[name]Duncan[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Iain[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]

[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Jenna[/name]

[name]Katie[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]

I live in a city of about 30,000 generally low income, high unemployment, a few rich people who finance theaters and such to entertain the other rich folks, and we have very very high number of artists. Basically the industries that supported the growth of our city have disappeared. We are not exactly rural, but a bit, and we have a lot of forest areas. My particular neighborhood is about average for my city, pretty low SES.
kids in my neighborhood :
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Hezekiah[/name]
[name]Ryder[/name]
[name]Mason[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]William[/name] (x2)
[name]Alexander[/name] (x2)
[name]Shayla[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Skylar[/name] (boy)
[name]Cameron[/name]

I notice that the birth announcements for the area have a lot of nature names, like [name]Fern[/name] and [name]Sequoia[/name], classic names for boy mostly, so many [name]Williams[/name]. [name]Shayla[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], and [name]Ryder[/name] ( maybe for the high # of dirt biker’s around here) seem unusually popular

I live in a small, beach/tourist town in Connecticut. Actually, if any of you have seen [name]Julia[/name] [name]Robert[/name]'s Mystic Pizza: welcome to my town! haha. Except I live on the other side of the river where it’s a little less affluent. Anywhoooo, I nanny so I’ve heard tons of kids names.
Popular around here are:
[name]Ava[/name]*
[name]Emma[/name]/[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Charolette[/name]
[name]Rilee[/name]

[name]Ethan[/name]*
[name]Jake[/name]
[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Kyle[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]

*these two are the sibset I watch in the Borough (really rich) and most of the names are kids on their bus, at the playground, or that they have come over for play dates.
