What vibe do you get from these pairings?

I am expecting in [name_u]January[/name_u] and it’s pretty much between [name_f]Verity[/name_f] or [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. But also really liking [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

I already have two boys.
They are [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_u]George[/name_u] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. So the brother/sister name has to pair/vibe nicely!

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] ( my top choice)
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] ( partners top choice)
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] ( my top choice)
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] ( partners top choice)
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner is pretty set on wanting to use [name_f]Verity[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favourites would be [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u].

With the sibset, I’d choose [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] or [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favourite is [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] → it’s bright, sparky, and sharp, clunky and cool.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is my second choice → warm and lively!

I also like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] (similar vibes to [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] smooshed together) and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] (vintage and fun)

Both Verity and Tabitha are smart and pretty names, with blue’ish tones and an Oxbridge between the wars feel. I like them both, with a preference for Verity (have loved it for a while). Tabitha works marginally better with the others though, giving everyone their own ending.

As for the middle names, I feel like a one syllable middle especially after a three syllable first is a bit of a full stop. Also, to me, Maeve and Eden seem to compete with rather than balance Verity even just visually. I would go for Verity Elise - Elise, again to me, softens any of the sternness of Verity and visually it looks the most balanced. I think Eden and Maeve are almost better as first names - and Odette is lovely but I don’t love the flow form Verity (Tio).

Some names I think go with Verity similar to what you’re thinking: Maren, Mara, Elspeth, Celeste, Margot, Bridget, Frances, Mabel, Martha, Mairead, Meara…

I like Tabitha Eve - it’s elegant and sprightly but still a little mysterious. Otherwise Ivy. Sylvie would also be nice after Tabitha. I like the name Faith so if it’s the most meaningful, I would use it - I just find it again a bit fast and abrupt after Tabitha - might be the repeat TH.

And all this said without knowing last name starting letter/ syllables etc, and whether these names are sentimental. :cherry_blossom:

You mention really liking [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Is your partner into it, too? If so, that’s my favorite of your choices. I find it most complementary to each boy’s name. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] sounds really close to [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] (to my ear), and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems somehow more of a sister name to an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] than a [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]. But [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] seems to unite them perfectly. Maybe [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]?

Thank you I’ll take your points on board. I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is lovely too but this baby is due in [name_u]January[/name_u] and I don’t know why I just can’t get past the fact that it feels like such a summery/spring baby name. I know that sounds silly.
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] is similar to [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] I agree but my [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] just often gets [name_m]Zach[/name_m] so we don’t feel it’s a problem. I think [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] does vibe more with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] but both [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] are biblical so I feel like this could be ok.
In fact both boys get their nickname and so we were thinking something like
[name_m]Zach[/name_m], [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]. That was kinda what we were going for. But naming a baby is such a big deal!

Really great points thanks! I’m just not sure if [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is too ‘eee’ heavy. But I agree it softens it! As for [name_u]Celeste[/name_u]. You have totally brought me back to this name! [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_u]Celeste[/name_u] is so different and unexpected.

[name_f]My[/name_f] surname is [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]. I realise that is quite rhyming with [name_f]Verity[/name_f] but we have a Z@chary [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and I personally kinda love the bounciness of it. So it doesn’t bother me. This is why I thought a one syllable middle would be best? Similar to my boys middles.

[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] is a good last name to which to match names!

I like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] then - it flows nicely/ sounds good.
I still think [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_u]Celeste[/name_u] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] work really well (and I like how they look with Verity) but now I know the last name, I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] works well.

It’s my partner’s choice, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. The double M, [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] is kinda cute. The overall name meaning is intoxicating truth, which is a bit different!

I absolutely adore-adore [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. :blush: [name_f]My[/name_f] mother used to call me Tabitha-Kitty and my younger sister Martha-Bunny when we were little (after a children’s book by [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Potter) :rabbit::cat: . [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
I actually really like [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (Or [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] Rose)

Another vote for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], if she’s an option. Also, to throw a wildcard in the mix: [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a first name. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is

I also like [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] from your choices. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] isn’t quite for me.

It’s lovely to see you back on Nameberry! Congratulations

This is really selling Verity to me - the nickname Vivi fits in so well with your boys. Verity Eden would be my pick (it sounds elegant and stylish) although I really like Verity Maeve with your surname, too.
