i’m coming up with character names and i’ve been stuck on this one character for a while. i really want his name to be different while still sounding nice with all the other characters’ names (Elliot, [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_u]Zoe[/name_u], Maya) which is surprisingly hard.
i finally thought of the name dylan. i think it sounds nice with the other names and fits in well stylistically (tell me if you think i’m wrong though), but my only problem is that i don’t know if it actually fits the character.
this character is like, this very snarky and sardonic “nerd” type. there’s more to him than that, obviously, but the point is i wouldn’t at all classify him as a jock-y popular dude, and i’ve been told that that’s the sort of person people first imagine when they hear the name [name_u]Dylan[/name_u].
what do you think? do you think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] could still work for this character, or should i keep searching?
if it won’t work, i’d appreciate any alternate suggestions. i considered the name [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] too, but i’m pretty hesitant about that one as well.

I think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] works. It’s popular enough for current young people that I can picture it on any personality. That said, I do get more of a chill, laid-back, easy going vibe for a [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]. Maybe a little snarky, but in a more funny way than sardonic. I think of a [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] as an athlete or a musician, definitely an outdoors-lover, who is generally a positive person to be around. But, I really do think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] works for your character’s personality too, even if it’s not the first “vibe” that comes to mind I can still picture it and it works.

Devon or Darren might work. i’ll add it to my maybe list! i feel like Darren fits this character’s “vibe” most.

At least, that’s what my brother is like 
there’s a character in a show I sometimes watch with these characteristics whose name is also Dylan so I do see it totally fitting that 
Maybe it’s where I am, but Dylan doesn’t really strike with as jock-y popular. It’s a bit gentler than that, not so overtly sporty or confident. A quieter name with subtle strength.
Dexter, Declan, Corby, Jesse, Isaac or Ned maybe?
it’s a jock, american football player, high school student kind of name to me. i think it’s a good match with your other characters’ names stylistically!
reminds me of my cousin. he is a 5 years old dylan who likes fish and sea, has big sweet eyes and is just so sunny and bright and cute to everyone, polite and sweet. likes dinosaurs and adventures too. reminds me of the sea and lake!
Yes, I think that the naughty kid turned jock is definitely my first association when I hear the name [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] , but hearing it on a nerdy character ( the INTJ type in myers-briggs personality) would be quite refreshing.

Your character is the exact vibe I would get from [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], but that might be because of a friend of a friend like that named [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]. still I think it fits nicely
