That is so interesting as I have never encountered a [name_m]Michal[/name_m] (that I know of) shocked to know you’ve met so many! It wouldn’t occur to me as a popular alternative spelling
When I was in school, it was [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Michael[/name_m], or [name_m]James[/name_m].
In the school where I teach, it’s probably [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and variations of the name [name_m]Caleb[/name_m].
I went to an all girls secondary school so I’m only going based off my co educational primary school, but there were always multiple boys called [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] or [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] in a class (2003 starters in [name_f]England[/name_f])
[name_m]Michael[/name_m] and [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] “Matt”, most likely.
[name_m]Other[/name_m] very common ones were Steven/Stephen, [name_m]Jason[/name_m], [name_m]Michael[/name_m] “Mike/Mikey”, [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] “Jake,” [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] “Chris,” and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] “Zach/Zack,” and [name_m]Dylan[/name_m].
Adding [name_m]Will[/name_m] to the list.
