What was the most popular first name at your school?

There was a lot of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]’s in my school.

There are a lot of Maxes, Alexanders, Emmas and Sophies at mine!

Jack (short for [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], or just [name_m]Jack[/name_m] but they all went by [name_m]Jack[/name_m]) and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/Kate/Katie

Growing up, it was [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. In college, [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u]. Lots of Connors, Calebs, Tylers growing up, too.

We have thousands of Daisys, Emmas, Lucys, Amelias, Mayas, and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names ([name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]. Most of them just go by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]).

Lots of [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] and Catherines in elementary/middle! Now there’s lots of Sophias and Olivias as well.

Not sure about the whole school but in my graduating class the top names were:

Lauren, [name_f]Hanna[/name_f]/Hannah, [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]/Sidney, [name_f]Megan[/name_f]/Meghan, [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]

Braden/Braeden/Brayden, [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_u]Austin[/name_u], [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]

For boys, [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Harri[/name_u] (that’s the most popular spelling here)

For girls, maybe [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Carys[/name_f] / [name_f]Cerys[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f] or [name_u]Tegan[/name_u], but nothing really sticks out to me as overly popular.

The whole school is way too big for me to know, but I’d put my money on these:

[name_u]Madison[/name_u] / [name_f]Maddison[/name_f]

Benjamin / [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] / [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]

I’m not sure about the whole school, but in my current class it’s [name_f]Emily[/name_f] for girls and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] for boys (I think most of them are full name [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but we don’t have a single one who goes by [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] in full)

Ava. There were five "[name_f]Ava[/name_f]"s in my grade of 200 kids.

I think it were

By the girls

By the boys

Whole lot of [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] and [name_m]Roberts[/name_m]

In the UK

Sarah, I think.

Lots of Maddies! [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]/Josh and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]/Jake were pretty popular for boys, and [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]/McKenna/Makayla variants were common for girls. Other common/overused names: [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]/Abby, [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]/Sara, [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]/Ben, [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]/Matt, [name_u]Michael[/name_u].

Edit: Adding Victoria/Tori – also incredibly popular. I knew at least 3, not to mention friends with siblings by the name.

In my 80’s & 90’s primary school: [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_m]Mark[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f].
In my son’s 00’s primary school: [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] and [name_u]Alfie[/name_u].
