What Was Your “Almost” Name?

I was almost [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! Other names my parents were considering were [name_m]Elliott[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].

If I were a girl, I would have been [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Madison[/name_f]!

I was going to be called [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and my twin sister was going to be [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. I would have been a different person with this regal and Nameberry friendly name!

[name_f]My[/name_f] parents namebank for me was:

[name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_f]Chelsea[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and Suzanne;
[name_m]Jeffery[/name_m] & [name_m]Kyle[/name_m]

What’s funny is I’m [name_f]Gen[/name_f] Z and these make me sound very millennial. Anyway, pretty happy I’m not any of these. Though I do like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] for others. In the end they went with my 7 year old bothers choice because none of their name choices suited me!

I think I would’ve been named Mollie, after one of my mum’s favourite comics when she was younger or…Briefly Dana after Dana Scully

I’m not going to share my actual first name, because it’s kind of rare (at least where I’m from) but here’s what I was almost named: [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], or [name_f]Gayane[/name_f].

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for my great-grandma on my dad’s side, [name_f]Elise[/name_f] for my great-grandma on my mom’s side, [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for both of them, and [name_f]Gayane[/name_f] because my mom thought it was pretty! No idea what my name would’ve been if I was AMAB, though.

I was almost [name_f]Sloane[/name_f], [name_f]Sydney[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] parents loved the nicknames for these!

I was almost [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] after the [name_f]Stevie[/name_f] Nicks song. I’m [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] instead. Truthfully, I don’t like either, but I’m glad I can go by AJ via [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] [name_f]Janet[/name_f]!

I would have been [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] if I had come out and E.lli@na hadn’t felt right!

I was going to be [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] or [name_f]Talia[/name_f], and if I had been a male, then I was going to be [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. Similarly, they were considering [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] for my older brother but decided against it last minute.

They thought about [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_f]Sierra[/name_f], and [name_f]Melinda[/name_f].
If I had been AMAB, I would have been [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].

that’s my name, haha!
I would have been Abigail and I think my parents probably would have used my sister’s middle name (Mary) with it, as Abigail Elizabeth is definitely a bit of a mouthful!
when my sister was born she was almost certainly going to be Charlotte but she ended up being called Olivia.
and then if we were boys, Benjamin “Ben” was the top contender.

I could have been Rosamaj, [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] or [name_f]Grethe[/name_f], or [name_f]Ninette[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Mikaela[/name_f] was also briefly considered.
[name_f]My[/name_f] twin brother would have been [name_m]Sindri[/name_m] if it had been my father’s decision.
