What were they thinking?

Okay so just curious what are the worst names that you have ever heard for a baby/child/woman. I’ll share mine, my mom knew a girl named Dorkus, and my friends mom knew a girl whos name was Cigerette. When I hear things like these names I really can’t help but think what these parents are thinking when they name their children

Oh [name]Lord[/name]! Cigerette? That’s awful!

I haven’t heard anything that bad, to be honest. But lots of times, I’ll see a name and just think, “Why, why, why?!” Like I knew a boy with two apostrophes in his name, and for no reason!

Two terrible names - Dorkus and Cigerette. Not only are they such awful names for any child to be given they’re misspelled as well. Dorkus should be [name]Dorcas[/name] and Cigerette should be Cigarette. I guess some people shouldn’t really have children if they have no common sense or empathy for them. Sigh! :frowning:

I know a [name]Huckleberry[/name] (which at least has literary cred) and know of a little girl named Kiddo.

I was at the store earlier this morning and I heard a mother call for her daughter. Her daughter’s name was Forrins! That’s how it’s spelled phonetically but it could have very well been Forrynz or something else horribly bad.

I question the name choices I come across often, but thank heavens I’ve never met a poor little Cigerette. Friends of my grandparents just became great grandparents to a baby boy name Jeyden. Yeah. [name_u]Jaden[/name_u] isn’t my cup of tea to begin with, but I just DONT GET why parents just decide “Oh, I think I’ll play scrabble with this name and give the kid whatever name we end up with!”

Sure it wasn’t spelled [name_f]Dorcas[/name_f]? That’s a biblical name, though a rather unfortunate sounding one in our society!

My mom used to work at a hospital and when she went to do lab work on a maternity patient she smiled at the woman’s daughter and asked her baby’s name. The lady said, “It’s (fuh-mall-ee)”. “Oh. I’ve never heard of that name before.” “Yeah”, said the new mom, “she came already named, the hospital gave it to her it said so on her birth certificate.” The birth certificate said her baby was Female. Some people just shouldn’t be parents! Yes, that is a completely true story!!!

I heard of the name [name_f]Latrina[/name_f] on urban dictionary, then I googled it and sure enough there are a couple people on linkedin and facebook with the name.
My aunt has a friend in the office and she said that [name_f]Latrina[/name_f] was her birth name, but on her 18th birthday she changed it to [name_f]Leticia[/name_f], she wanted something similar sounding without the awful connotation.

Female? hahaha that is too funny.

At the beach the other day my cousin was playing with three girls. Naturally I asked them what their names were. Once I heard the names I had to get the spellings too, because I could tell they were going to be ‘youneek’.

They were sisters [name_f]Braelynn[/name_f] and Maddyl (The young girl said she was [name_f]Maddy[/name_f] and spelt out M-A-D-D-Y, but then her older sister said her full name had an L at the end ??) and their friend McKylie.

Female is an urban legend.
I don’t know any strange ones but some of the bottom of the list names are bad: rage, Beautyful and Pretty.
