What were your babies almost named?

What were your babies’ “almost” names?!

[name_f]My[/name_f] son was almost [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]!
Two other names we strongly considered were:
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]Emrys[/name_u] + [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_u]Brooks[/name_u]

We knew our boy would be [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u], but we almost did [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] instead of a family name. If he’d been a girl, we likely would’ve named him [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]Davis[/name_u] or [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Danielle[/name_f] (family names). Though we really loved [name_f]Nora[/name_f] & [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] too!

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] was almost named [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], which is funny because the actress [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Dynevor has a sister named [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]!

[name_f]My[/name_f] son [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] was almost named [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_u]Snow[/name_u] and if he’d been a girl he probably would’ve been [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Aleya[/name_f] or [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] son was almost [name_u]Callum[/name_u] (probably [name_u]Callum[/name_u] James) or [name_u]Judah[/name_u] [name_m]Ebenezer[/name_m]. He would’ve been [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] or [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] had he been a girl.

Mack! (although it’s in the middle spot and they call themselves baby mack quite often). I also like Reagen Robbi, Peyton Harper, and Karter Blake.

Such an interesting read :white_heart:

@danilib my goodness your almost names are beautiful.

So gosh I had an endless list of names when I was pregnant with [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] it was a bit ridiculous but my major runner ups were [name_f]Iris[/name_f] & [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
I also toyed with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

Not a parent, but my cousin (I have permission to share this) called her son [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] for two weeks before deciding ‘he’s just not a Malachi!’ and switching to [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. He now goes by [name_m]Solly[/name_m] and couldn’t possibly be anything else

In my day (pregnant in the 1980s), you didn’t know the sex of the baby until it was born. Scans were only just beginning! So, I had to come up with names for boys and girls.
For a boy it was going to be [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. For a girl it was going to be [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f], as I wanted to use the nn Sammi-Jo. Anyway, I had a boy and when I saw him, I decided he was not a [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] and had to consult the baby name book again. I settled on [name_m]Philip[/name_m] in the end, but I have always called him [name_u]Phil[/name_u]. I regret not giving him a middle name, but I was in a complicated relationship at the time, and his so-called father was being very awkward. Needless to say we split up.
Anyway, some 36 years later my son changed his name by deed poll. Now he is [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], which is excellent as I wanted [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] as his middle name!

I think if I’d had a girl, she probably wouldn’t have been [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f]. I bet I would have changed my mind when I met her.
