Huge thanks to everyone who replied to my thread about middle names for [name]Greer[/name], branching out from my usual biblical middle-names style. We really like the sound of these together:
We feel that the sounds and feel of these (middle) names work well together. So, now that we are prepared to move slightly away from biblical middle names, I wonder what middle names you would give to an [name]Elspeth[/name] in this sibset, in fitting with the style above?
By the way, [name]Lemon[/name], we did love your suggestion of [name]Greer[/name] [name]Anna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - a very lovely runner-up!
I love [name]Lorcan[/name] [name]Caleb[/name] [name]Noah[/name], [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name], and [name]Findlay[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Aaron[/name] together! I’m also glad you liked [name]Greer[/name] [name]Anna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name], but [name]Stella[/name] adds a bit more pizazz to the name, I suppose. I think it is perfect to keep one Hebrew name in there ([name]Rachel[/name]) to unify all three names, so let’s due the same for [name]Elspeth[/name], eh?
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Dinah[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] - I love this with [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name]!
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Mara[/name]
I’m sorry, the heat is getting to me and my creative processes aren’t in full force. But, I do think that [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] really compliments [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] and her brothers’ names very well. It’s sweet and sassy, vintage and chic. Can’t wait to see other suggestions…
We love [name]Hannah[/name], and although we don’t care for the name [name]Ruby[/name], we agree that [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] works great stylistically with [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name]. I wonder what else might work in place of [name]Ruby[/name]?
[name]Just[/name] to but in, you might like one of these in the place of [name]Ruby[/name] :
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Iris[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] (I’m not making these all floral on purpose!)
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Molly[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]
Elsepth [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Sadie[/name].
Other names which remind me of [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Stella[/name], but end in an A sound and so don’t flow perfectly with [name]Hannah[/name], include [name]Isla[/name], [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Willa[/name].
[name]Glad[/name] you sort of like [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]. Let’s see what we could substitute for [name]Ruby[/name], then…
I’m hoping you like [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Hannah[/name], as it seems a bit more mainstream than [name]Ruby[/name], yet it still has the sweet classic vibe that [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] has - and [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] both sound flashy and vibrant in an understated way!
I do like the name [name]Audrey[/name], but I’m not sure it’s right for me. In my mind, I kind of feel like [name]Greer[/name] is ‘hard’ so I’ve softened it with what I consider to be soft middle names. I see [name]Elspeth[/name] as a ‘soft name’, so maybe it needs stronger middles? The combination ‘[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]’ keeps popping into my head as well, I’m not even totally sure if I like it but it keeps occurring to me!
[name]Non[/name]-hebrew names I like are:
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]…[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Clara[/name] something???
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Frances[/name]*
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Agnes[/name]*
[name]Ingrid[/name] - wonder if this could work?
[name]Willa[/name] - but wouldn’t use this now I have [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name]/ [name]Alexa[/name]/ [name]Alexis[/name]
I left [name]Briony[/name] off the first list! These lists are not complete of course, just to give you an idea of the lines I’m thinking along! Kath xx
I actually see [name]Audrey[/name] as a “hard” name because of that strong D sound, thus I think [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] has enough presence and substance to work against [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name]. However, I love [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Clara[/name]!
The creative juices aren’t really flowing right now - sorry! But, I would say to maybe keep your middle names at two syllables a piece considering the pattern of [name]Lorcan[/name] [name]Caleb[/name] [name]Noah[/name], [name]Findlay[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Aaron[/name], and [name]Greer[/name] [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rachel[/name].
Although the other names in my sibset encompass at least one Hebrew middle name, I’m wondering if maybe I don’t need to stick to this as rigidly with [name]Elspeth[/name], as the name is derived from the Hebrew [name]Elizabeth[/name]. We really like the idea of [name]Clara[/name] for a second middle name, but are wondering about the first middle name slot. Are there any names that may work? Also, are there any that begin and end in a constenant (e.g. [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Frances[/name])?
Thanks for all the replies. We also really like the idea of [name]Frances[/name] as a second miidle name for [name]Elspeth[/name] - if we went with that, what might work as a first middle name?
