Based on meaning, I say [name_f]Alcina[/name_f] Liridona (strong willed desire for freedom) or [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] Sirio (brave counsel of the fiery stars)
If I had to change my name today I’d choose [name_u]Romilly[/name_u] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. Both names I just really like and feel like me!
I don’t think I ever would change my name, but if I did, I’ve always thought I’d suit [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
If I couldn’t go with my chosen name Teddy/ie, I’d probably be more unique with my decision. I would probably go with [name_u]Loki[/name_u], not necessarily after the MCu version, but after the figure of Norse mythology.
I’d keep my name as close to it as possible, and I think I’d choose Georgia/Georgie [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
Hmm, maybe [name_f]Tove[/name_f] [name_f]Mielikki[/name_f], combining [name_f]Tove[/name_f] [name_m]Jansson[/name_m] (whose Moomin books were instrumental to my childhood and whose literary fiction really shaped my 20s) and a Finnish goddess of the forest!
i’d never change my name, but if i absolutely had to, i’d probably go with [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] or [name_f]Bess[/name_f]!
Definitely [name_f]Alysha[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] (as a double FN). Not sure what I’d choose for a middle, but this is a name that I’ve really come to love.
Because I was born a name nerd, I fancied the idea (only) of what my name would be throughout my life and went through phases of:
[name_m]Cagney[/name_m], Anndraya, [name_u]Shea[/name_u] [name_f]Kerris[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_f]Morrigan[/name_f], [name_u]Erin[/name_u], Manderley, [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
I’ve also had a few people tell me they prefer, or love, my middle name [name_u]Clare[/name_u] (used wayyy before [name_f]Claire[/name_f] got popular- I went through 12 grades of school without another named mn Clare/Claire).
However, as I’ve aged, I’ve stopped thinking about that and really come to appreciate that it was quite likely my mom’s slightly different choices to begin with that caused me to like names so much.
I am [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u] with younger sister [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u].
[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] and [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] stood out a bit in late 70s early 80s (and we are also not [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] and Elizabeth). ALL of our sister friends were something like [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] and [name_u]Lisa[/name_u], [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_u]Lisa[/name_u], [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] and [name_f]Heather[/name_f].
The only sister duos that stood out at all were:
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] and [name_f]Rita[/name_f] (because at least [name_f]Rita[/name_f] was different)
[name_f]Monica[/name_f] and [name_f]Mitzi[/name_f] (same reason w Mitzi)
Later in life, I became friends with a [name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with sister [name_f]Jordana[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] from the same time frame. [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and [name_f]Jordana[/name_f] are as good or better than [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] and [name_f]Betsy[/name_f].
I put so much thought into our kids’ names. One day, years ago, our daughter Wellsley was pretend playing with friends [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_f]Mollie[/name_f], and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I overheard them changing their names. Wellsley told them she would keep her name and all three girls said she should
Fun question!
I did, however, get a chance to use a different name. I’ve published five novels and took the long-ago advice of my first psych professor. He called everyone by their middle names on purpose to give us a different way to think of ourselves.
He told me that one day I’d be an author and I should go by [name_u]Clare[/name_u], So I did!
If changing my name was really easy, I’d probably change my middle name and then go by that.
I’m really indecisive and not quite sure of what I’d choose. Solely going off what I feel like today I’d rename myself [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Finja[/name_f] [name_u]Solvi[/name_u]
[name_f]Antigone[/name_f] or [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]!
I like my name! But I think I’d make a good [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
As it stands, I would keep my current name, but I would add a second middle name.
M______ LeeAnn
When I was younger, I wanted so badly to change my first name as well as add a second middle name on to my name. Unfortunately I never got the chance nor did I figure out what first name I would have chosen.
? LeeAnn
I wouldn’t change my name, but if I had to I’d probably go with a 80s/90s surfer vibe, like [name_u]Shane[/name_u] or [name_m]Brad[/name_m]
